The average Vasiran shares similarities with the baseline humans of the world, however their dragon blood does grant them quite few glaring differences, mainly in the form of their protruding horns and patches of hardened scales on their flesh. Their blood also grants them an extended lifespan, the oldest vasirans able to live up to 150 years of age. There is also a subsect of Vasirans that are born fully Draconic and often are seen as blessed by THE Gods. These “Blessed” Vasirans have often found themselves in high position of power within the Realm, mostly serving as religious leaders.

The humans of Vasria were once part of the rival Kingdom of Astorius, who had warred with the Vasirans for generations, now with the war long past, the two former enemies now fellow countrymen in this new age. The Ukani are a warrior culture that place merit and skill above all else, bloodlines and status held sacred by the ruling powers of the Old World mean very little if one cannot secure it by force of arms. Looking from afar, it can be difficult to tell between a male and female, but upon closer inspection, there is one major difference. Males typically are born with wings, while females are born wingless, although the vis versa occurring is not out of the question, but quite rare. Despite their insect-like appearance and hive-like settlements, the Ukani are not mere drones, and are more individualistic. Before the arrival of the Vasirans, the Ukani themselves had already established several city-states, said states are under the rulership of a lord with whatever title that fits their fancy. Said lords often attain their position through skill alone, the lords proving themselves the strongest among their kin. Such rules and strength and merit would ironically lead to their partial subjection to the Vasirans. The Vasirans themselves proving to be the strongest, thus, fit to rule over the Badlands. Many however, see this as a perversion of their culture, being ruled by unworthy outsiders, many fleeing to the wilderness, continuing the fight against their colonists.

[img][/img]

Governance & Politics: Vasira is ruled under the Lords Assembly, a political gathering of Noble Houses from both the Vasiran Heartlands and the Human provinces that once made up the Kingdom of Astorius. The Houses long agreeing that no singular King or Emperor shall rule over the lands of the Dragon Realm. The Noble Houses, in place of the Old Kings, were now The Lords of the Assembly convene whenever matters of great importance arise, be it declaring war or crusade, or agreeing upon treaties with other powers of the world, or other sorts of matters of state, all the Houses, no matter the size of their holdings, are granted an equal say within the Assembly. Below the Houses are an assortment of minor officials and bureaucrats that help run the day to day operations of the Dragon Realm, some form of democracy practiced in choosing said officials. Culture & Society: Vasira is a land in flux between the forces of tradition and piety, and the forces of industry and progress, reaching an imperfect, if balanced medium between these competing mindsets. Vasira has a well-established industry in weapons and armor masonry by using Manarite, its mystical properties enhancing the wielder on the battlefield, and with the age of firearms coming into play, Manarite is now more then ever, in much needed supply. The Vasirans are a pious people, falling under the guidance of the Church of the Grand Cycle, its central figures of worship being the two Primordial Dragons of Kyra and Ulrac, the Dragons of the Grand Cycle. Kyra is the Mother of all Llife, Ulrac the Father of the End that awaits us all. It is a never-ending cycle of life, death, prosperity and struggle, and all the faithful will join at their side in the Everafter. The concept of knighthood is also a long prevailing idea that still lingers today, Knightly Orders of old still serving their Lords even in modern times, leading armies of riflemen into the fray. Magic & Technology: Despite their fervent traditionalism, the people of Vasira are a modestly industrious sort, having a long history of forging weapons out of Manarite that once graced the Vasiran Heartlands aplenty. Today they are the masters of Manarite-based firearms and artillery, and still even manufacture manarite-based melee weapons to this day. Military Overview: The Vasiran Military is middling power that faces the same struggles of between the modern and the traditional. Armies of rifle-armed peasant levies, modern artillery, and war dragons often being led by armor-clad Knights on horseback being quite the peculiar sight It’s naval presence is average at best, the Vasiran Army more at home in both the skies and land. In the colonial provinces, it is not too strange to see natives under the good graces of the Overseeing lords employed as auxiliary troops, supporting the main formations whenever possible, and unsurprisingly, often are found proving to be better combatants compared to the peasant levies that make up the bulk of the army. In recent times however, efforts have been made to organize more expertly trained, professional soldiers in the form of the Drake Legion. The Legion is at the moment, a small, yet efficient force that overshadows the peasant levies and personal guards of the Noble Houses, offering a small glimpse into a possible future for Vasiran military might.
