I think a good way to move forward with that is after my most recent post, where she learned and utilized the lesson, ember can transition into discussing what he was originally going to. By mentioning the "invasion" they could move the discussion into that and what they would do from there. This situation being a "gateway drug" to some of ember's non-magical world views.
