Right, might as well give this a shot, at least to shake some of the proverbial rust off.
Name: Frank Brown Age: 30 Appearance: Frank is a somewhat average adult male, with brown hair and green eyes. He is clean shaven, though occasionally can be found with stubble if a particularly long case takes up his time. He wears prescription glasses, with a magnetic sunglasses attachment for bright days. His general outfit is a bit impractical for athletic activities, with him wearing dress shirts and slacks, differently-colored ties, with the occasional suit coat, blazer, or trench coat if the weather is poor. He has a shoulder holster he wears under his usual jacket, which holds a semi-automatic pistol and some spare magazines. He also generally keeps a pack or two of cigarettes and a lighter on him at any given time. Background: Frank was originally a police detective, investigating a gruesome murder case where a man had been ripped to shreds in the wilderness near the city. This case eventually led to an encounter with what was revealed to be a werewolf. Frank struggled to keep himself alive, but was saved by someone he would become good friends with, Bowyer Dolph. Dolph saw that Frank could be a useful asset, and introduced him to the supernatural aspects of the world. Frank would attempt to resolve the murder case, but issues in the department and courts left him with no choice but to resign from the force. From there, with Bowyer's help, he established Brown & Dolph Private Investigations, and began to dig into the world of the occult and supernatural. Along the way, Frank found himself frequently accosted by the owner of what would ostensibly be called an "Occult Tabloid" magazine, one Jacki Dawson. Jacki learned that Frank and Bowyer often took cases rumored to be tied to occult and supernatural happenings, though they always vehemently denied it and felt they were simply picking up the slack left by law enforcement. Nonetheless, nestled between inane claims of mummy sighting and vampire politicians has laid a faint glimmer of truth in her magazines, the exploits of two private detectives. These escapades would culminate in a missing persons case that would lead to Frank uncovering a cult, the members seeking to summon some form of being, or beings, from the afterlife using a magic urn. Frank interrupted the cult meeting just as they were attempting to sacrifice the reported missing individual in an attempt to activate the urn. A fight broke out, and among many of the events of said fight, Frank found himself flung into the urn, it shattering against him, a feedback of energy overtaking him and threatening to bring the cult's hideout down. Frank managed to escape with the missing person, if only barely. The collision with the urn left him severely disoriented, hearing and seeing strange voices and figures as he made it back to his home. When he awoke the next morning, he had a voice message from the cult's would-be victim thanking him for the rescue, and a massive splitting headache. He tried to contact Bowyer to learn more about what had happened, but his calls constantly resulted in a dead number. Likewise, upon hearing he'd been spotted leaving a collapsing building with a missing person rescued, Jacki began hounding Frank's every waking moment with requests for an interview, a comment, even just a brief "Fuck off, Jacki!" And now he finds that since his run-in with the cult, he can hear and see what can best be described as dead spirits, and even commune with the denizens of the afterlife. With his partner absent, a crazed tabloid writer blowing up his methods of contact, and Frank dealing with even more of the oddities of the supernatural world, he decided he needed some new allies, finding himself in contact with the Sunday Group, an organization of individuals with careers not dissimilar to the one he'd already begun to step into. Abilities: Beyond investigative and combat training as a police detective, Frank has recently come into some form of supernatural, possibly magical ability. Though he doesn't quite understand the full extent of it, nor if it'll last forever, it primarily allows him to see, hear and interact with what some might call ghosts, spirits of the dead in one form or another.
