There are a few small ongoing wars currently. Than'dyr (starting country) is currently [b]NOT[/b] at war. The thing about wars is that they have to be quick, because they are too costly to wage in a world with dangers like the Mist.

To be more specific for your Warforged, the official name for the race would be a misnomer because they were actually designed to navigate the Mist in my setting; the experiment was largely unsuccessful. Because of the magical engineering that went into them, these "Mistforged" realized their sapience and briefly fought for their independence. They were granted rights within months, in order to keep loss of life and property down.
