He just wanted more than anything to be alongside somebody that he knew cared about him in the moment, and that was what he was gonna seek out. The idea of Niah leaving, and him somehow not making it hurt him more than anything he'd ever experienced. He didn't ever want that to come to pass, he didn't want her to feel guilty for a death she'd tell herself she could have prevented. Oliver loved Niah, in a way that he hadn't completely realized until now, she was somebody he wanted to live with, not just exist with. Then, the world folded in on itself, and Oli's stomach turned. The physics that this entire new paradigm introduced was starting to make his head spin, and a part of him honestly hoped that the things that were possible in this universe were somehow physical impossibilities in their own. He had no idea how spontaneous travel worked, but he knew that every explanation he could come up with at this particular moment; mortally wounded, lovestruck, and trying not to dissociate into the mind of a murderous psychopath was insufficient and would just make him look dumb if he tried to guess.
