[indent][b]Radiant or "Positive" Energy Manipulation[/b] 
Simply put, Sylvia has the abilities to bring out the best in people, fire luminous projectiles, fly to a limited ability, heal herself and others, and protect herself and others by harnessing "positive energy". 

The primary applications of this power are:

[b]Blessing:[/b] With a touch, or a [color=#FDEF88]"blessing"[/color] as she might call it, she can empower or even overclock someone's capabilities to an unknown extent, just not her own. Supers with powers find their abilities are suddenly more potent in some regard. For example, someone with the ability to fly might find themselves flying even faster than thought possible, or a someone that can fire energy bursts might end up with even stronger and more dangerous firepower. A normal civilian empowered by this ability would find themselves with superhuman athletics and speed. Typically the recipient of this ability finds themselves greatly exhausted for an day after its effects have worn off, which tend to vary anywhere from 10 minutes to several hours. This is doubly so for any non-Super recipient. Currently, she can only bless one individual a day and feels quite tired herself afterward. To be used with caution.

[b]Regeneration[/b]: Sylvia can heal wounds and regrow limbs of herself and others with a touch, though she is unable to repair fatal wounds, such as decapitation. As a rider to this, she's blessed with immunity to disease. 

[b]Luminous Rays:[/b] Her hands are capable of projecting beams of energy. The damage these rays can do are totally dependent on the time she puts into charging them. A hasty shot, for example, might hurt as much as being punched, while a charge held for a few minutes could do massive damage to one’s organs.

[b]Glimmering Wings[/b]: Wings of pure yellow energy sprout from Sylvia’s back, allowing her to fly. However, this is harder to maintain than it seems, and currently she can only fly short distances or glide. These wings can also be used as a form of protection, but they may collapse if the attack is strong enough to penetrate it. 

[b]Brilliant Bubble:[/b] With a wave of her hand, a majestic barrier appears to protect an individual from harm, but, like her wings, it can be penetrated with a strong enough attack. This barrier is currently strong enough to ward off bullets and standard energy bursts, but will not prevent someone from burning, freezing, being diseased, or suffocating.

[color=gray][u]L I M I T A T I O N S[/u][/color]
[indent]Sylvia's abilities are a force multiplier. Her abilities are ironically incredibly strong when used in conjunction with others, while she does not play well with most people. So the greatest limitation to her abilities are Sylvia herself. If she were to find herself in a group that found itself benefiting from her abilities, they might also wind up using her as a crutch due to her ability to really up the ante when it comes to ones personal abilities.[/indent]

[indent]Preferring to stay out of the fray, Sylvia doesn't have much combat experience. In any mock scenario, she puts others between herself and whatever ever threat there might be. People are expendable when it comes to herself, and she will not hesitate to run if necessary. [/indent]

[indent]Sylvia is a vain, self-righteous, egotistical bitch. She is totally focused on status and belittling any that aren’t of the upper class. As the daughter of a heavily influential figure, Sylvia likes to think of herself as untouchable and privileged. Due to this, she has no problem being condescending and rude to the Academy’s higher ups. She appears to be more interested in keeping her looks up than getting any semblance of an education. 

Being the princess that she is, Sylvia stomps the halls with refined elegance and pulls strings to get her way. Men and women who are interested in her, for whatever reason, have next to no chance of dating her unless they are of elite status, although they may find it hard to get anywhere at all due to her prudish nature. She disdains those who don’t dress regally and take pride in their appearance. Fortunately, she tends to keep to herself unless she has the compulsion to say something.

Or... Well, that's how she acts. While her parents are exceedingly kind people, they belong to a whole new realm of belonging. They are upper class elites, and Sylvia has always struggled with balancing kindness and image like her parents. Getting close to others feels impossible, and the weight expectation has placed on her has truly ruined any sense of belonging she might've ever felt. Internally, she is a nervous wreck. There are plenty of people she really does like, but doesn't know how to tell them. She wants friends. She wants to be happy. She wants to feel like she has a place and a purpose, but the incredible position she and her family are from have hindered her ability to connect with others, so she expresses herself in negative ways. Time and time again someone has tried to break that barrier, only to find themselves heckled and verbally harassed. She doesn't really understand why she does this, but she's determined to try and break her habits. Maybe finally make a real friend.

He has a reputation as a gracious, self-sacrificial, and kind hero. At home, he is a very distant and judgmental father. He expects nothing less than the best of his daughter and has fostered high expectations for her future. Sylvia is very rigid around him.

[i]Dr. Elise "Seraphim" Vargas, 47[/i] – She's a part of the Board. Yep, one of the Directors even, and as a result, has a lot of power in the education system. Like Joshua, she also comes from a very prestigious family, the Seligs. Dr. Vargas is renown for her healing abilities. She is known to be one of the nicest superhumans, as well as very mild mannered and understanding. Of course, there's always a dark side when it comes to people this high up the ladder. Dr. Elise is extremely hard on her daughter and often dictates how her future is going be, regardless of what Sylvia really wants. Sylvia loathes her mother and her methods of keeping her on the straight and narrow.

[indent]Sylvia was born into prestige and power at a private birthing center in Durham, North Carolina. She was to be the sole heir to a dynasty helmed by Joshua and Elise Vargas. She didn't grow up with her parents though or at least, she didn't really see them much, as they were way too busy in their hectic lives to raise a child at home. Instead, Sylvia was raised and taught by a woman named Jennifer Ashworth, who also happened to be her mother's stay at home personal assistant. As a result, her life has mostly been sheltered and out of touch with reality. Never once has Sylvia sat foot in a public school, having had only the best of education handed to her. Even when she started attending her private schools, her parents protected her every step. No matter who she offended, who she stepped on, it never mattered and was neatly swept under the rug by her parents' money and influence. Sylvia's princess-like attitude is a direct result of having never been punished, but it also the source of Sylvia's isolation from the world. 

When Joshua and Elise did sit down and try to parent, they preached the necessity of image, and so their daughter learned how to strut for the cameras. Once the lenses dropped though, Sylvia was free to do whatever she liked. Well, until she started straying too far off the path her parents wanted for her anyway. Several times she tried to befriend or romance someone her parental figures did not approve of, only to see those people metaphorically whisked away. One even went missing once. She was only allowed to go to certain events and only able to do pre-approved activities. Her parents had put bars around her, so she mostly spent her free time playing MMOs where she could sort of pretend she was somewhere else. No, she's not allowed to tell people she still plays World of Warcraft.

Academically, Sylvia has only ever been average in any given subject. In fact, she only seemed to do well in computer science due to the fact that she was a closeted MMO addict. Her grades were definitely not good enough to her into the elite Crystal Peak Academy.

But her parents' money [i]was[/i].

A backroom deal was cut in some fancy restaurant somewhere in the United States wherein the Vargas family would generously donate an unspecified amount of money to school. As for Sylvia's? Well, maybe some paperwork was sent in by a third party on her behalf or perhaps some documents went missing. Either way, her acceptance was rubber stamped and never discussed. 

At first, she was excited to be out from the under the constant eye of Joshua and Elise, but her first year did not really pan out the way she wanted. She didnt make any friends, she still felt isolated, and the freakin' fire made things worse for everybody. If it were up to her, she probably would have left and tried anything else, but again, the long arm of the Vargas family makes it very difficult, especially considering their money is going to building a memorial at the remains of the Crestview. Coming into Sophomore year things are gonna be different. For real this time. Maybe.
