I'm also going to make a preemptive ruling before the question comes up: 

Because the Giant Snail does not have a Swimming Speed, I'm going to say that the Giant Snail is the kind of snail that isn't able to swim/breath underwater. So, Bob will try to avoid drowning in high tide.
