Don't be like those hypocritical dogs from the Martial Alliance. Name: Xiao Kai Titles: Unrestrained Master of the Broken Mountain, Scoundrel of Hunan (For the Martial Alliance that dislike him), Hundred swords Xiao Kai (From his long track record of breaking martial artist swords when they duel.) Age: 49 Rank: Unrestrained Master Allegiance: Recusant Appearance: 176 cm, 75 kg Much like Xiao Shan, he wears a similar white garb of Wakoku, alongside the Geta shoes. Though his are made out of steel rather than wood.
Personality: Xiao Kai craved strength more than anything, in this dog-eat-dog recusant world, where the strongest leads. He climbed the ranks by training himself hard and fought duels after duels to further his strength. This extends to making his sect the top dogs in Hunan, he brooked no arguments and dissent across the state. Those that didn’t bend found themselves broken and absorbed by his sect, those that did became part of his sect and were treated like brothers. Allowing him to fully dominate the routes. Similarly, he enforced a strong discipline amongst his group and ensured that nothing untoward happens during sect business. What they do after the job was none of his concern. When it comes to Xiao Shan, Xiao Kai raised her as a boy because he had no other knowledge to do so besides the life of a warrior of the Jianghu. Still, he poured every love and care he had towards her, and in his eyes, it didn’t matter anymore if she was a girl or boy. He was proud of her. This, much to Xiao Shan chagrin, often involves tough love from their sparring session. The former going extremely hard to ensure she’s ready to take on the Jianghu itself when the time comes.

History: Xiao Kai was a nobody, an orphaned and abandoned baby. He was found and raised in the Broken Mountain sect. From this, a long period began as Xiao Kai repaid the sect by being strong. Blessed with a strong body, it didn’t take long before he too made into a first-class warrior at the age of 19. He also married Tai Shan, a normal woman that wasn’t remotely associated with the Jianghu but came to contact after regular business in being a driver for their escort. This momentary happiness will not last, however. The Martial Alliances came to their borders of Hunan, accused them of acts that they never did, and then attacked them viciously later despite the Broken Mountain sect kicking them out politely. This sparked a long period of brawls, then bloody fights, and outright war when it was clear the Martial Alliance wouldn’t stop these unjustified attacks alongside mounting casualties. So they marched out, kill and razed towns to the ground where the Martial Alliance had stationed their troops. Xiao Kai was often at the forefront of these vicious strikes, earning him a loathsome reputation. Many warriors and members of the sect were lost during this period. Such an event forced Xiao Kai to be far from home often due to the intense fight, where he can’t even mourn or be there for the passing of his wife after delivering their daughter. Then when the truth of the matter came out and the Devil clan was responsible. The newly transcendent master Xiao Kai was selected as the few that’ll take the fight to them directly as a reserve force. The final battle left him severely injured and was such a brutal battle, that Xiao Kai reached the Unrestrained realm merely by surviving it till the end. The master of the Broken Mountain, however, wasn’t so lucky and died in that confrontation. After the war, Xiao Kai turned his attention inwards for many years as he stepped into the role as the new Master of the Broken Mountain. Stabilizing, rebuilding, and expanding the sect's business venture, creating a more rigorous training, and emphasizing sparring with one another by taking lessons learned from the conflict. Yet time cannot heal all the old wounds, the loss of his brothers, friends, and wife still lingered within him. Now that the Devil Clan was gone and broken, the Martial Alliance and sects responsible for the early attacks still stood proudly. That, Xiao Kai felt, was a grave insult to him, and all the brothers that died during the early stages of that war. He was not alone in that matter, as Elders and veterans of the Broken Mountain sect shared the same opinion. Lee Hyeon, one of the few men that Xiao Kai will acknowledge as the leader, favored the treaty. Unable to express or do more about his disdain for the Martial Alliance, he focused on strengthening his sect instead by building up weapons, information, and manpower instead. A reason why he allowed his daughter to undergo the wandering trial. It’ll open her eyes up and perhaps, let her see reason and wake up to the realities of the Jianghu.

Other: Xiao Kai loves a good drink, so much so that he carries a gourd-filled wine everywhere he goes.

Body Enhancements: Steel bones, iron muscles. Long practice of his art had transcendent his body akin to that of metal. Even without his technique, his skin is tough enough to withstand blows even from unrestrained realm masters. Great Ocean: His stamina, honed by a lifetime of battle and maintained by training has allowed him to constantly be at its peak. One wouldn’t even realize that he was nearing 50 and as he looked to be in his thirties.

Eight Heavenly Trigrams: An extremely heavy and large club that tapers off at the handle, its dark metallic surface absorbing all light. Made of the highest and strongest steel, it followed Xiao Kai since he was first inducted as a first-rank warrior and shattered countless of foes since then. Wine gourd: Containing the strongest of alcohols in Hunan, it’s further enhanced (Much to the disgust of those who drank it.) by having the wine pickled in plenty of dried chilli peppers for additional taste and spiciness. Something that Xiao Kai acquired a taste for.
Cultivation Base: Sturdy as a Mountain
Techniques: Thunderstrike (Perfected): The core of all his techniques, it’s a vicious strike that transforms even the most mundane attack into the deadliest. What Xiao Shan doesn’t know, is that while they can match strikes, the methods of execution are completely different. Xiao Kai covers his in qi that it gives him extra reach, concentrates its power, and transmits the destruction through it. Thoroughly destroying both inner and outer as compared to Xiao Shan who falls behind in the inner destruction. Lightning strike: Using the very air and sending it flying like a projectile, it’s the range version of his thunderstrike. Capable of sending the blast into a concentrated line like lightning. This attacks contains is his most powerful piercing attack. Ironskin (Perfected): A technique from the Ironfist sect that came to the Broken Mountain Sect with its exiled master, under Xiao Kai had reached its peak and has no delay to any of the body parts that he chooses to harden. Thunder step: Created completely by accident, its origin as a derivative of using the thunder strike with a kick. A single step allows him to cross meters onto his opponent with a violent explosion from the initial start. Making look like he appeared in a blink of an eye even against Unrestrained Masters. Foresight: Combining his experience, instinct and knowledge, Xiao Kai is able to read and discern his opponent's moves before it starts. Granting him the initiative. Against masters of his caliber or higher, it becomes more complicated as Xiao Kai has to read potentially dozens of moves ahead.

[@OwO] Just wanted to post this here so you can get more of an idea of what Xiao Shan father and Leader of the Broken Mountain Sect is like.
