Name: Eleanor ‘Ellie’ Tregellan Age: 34 Concept: The Veteran Appearance: Eleanor is a pretty, if unassuming, woman in early middle age. She has the classic Celtic combination of pale skin, green eyes, red hair and the inevitable freckles. There is a slight drawn quality to her face and her eyes focus well beyond the horizon. She dresses professionally even in the heat of a New Orleans summer. Personality Traits: |Relentless | Driven | Distant | Brittle | World Weary | Vengeful | Honest Personality: Eleanor is passionate about what she does, even if she herself doesn't understand why. While not precisely a workaholic she is completely dedicated to the mission of the Sunday Group which appeals to her both intellectually and on an emotional level. At the end of the day Eleanor wants to do good. Eleanor has seen a lot in her long service to the Sunday Group. She has watched friends and colleagues die, seen innocent people suffer at the hands of powers man was not meant to see, and has been close to death countless times herself. The results of these stresses are beginning to manifest themselves in a thousand yard stare, a tendency to snap in and out of focus, and a self protective reserve when it comes to others. Powers: Mathamagical - Eleanor started out her career as a ritual practitioner, however after encountering Emmaline Von Morganstern she came to an understanding of magic as applied mathematics. Eleanor is able to create thaumaturgical effects on the fly as well as manipulate forces of entropy. Techno-Ritualist: With time and preparation Eleanor can perform arcane rituals considerably in excess of what she can manage ad hoc. This extends to preparing magical tools and devices. These rituals often involve the use of computers or electronics. Survivor - Eleanor has survived a long time in a career with a short life expectancy. She is competent with a firearm and has learned the basics of a number of other useful skills. SawBones- Eleanor is formally trained as a doctor. Unfortunately, as she never actually practiced other than as an anatomical pathologist, her bedside manner tends to be a bit… abrupt. Background: Eleanor doesn't talk much about her past before coming to the Sunday Group though observant Eleanor watchers (or anyone who has ever talked to Emmaline) might know that she attended medical school with the goal of learning to use magic to heal. Like many before her she found this to be a difficult and frustrating pursuit and was eventually persuaded to join the Sunday Group where she could use her skills to help people more proactively. She is estranged from her family for reasons she doesn't discuss, with the exception of her sister Mercy with whom she periodically checks in. Eleanor has been with the Sunday Group for seven years and in that times has worked on many difficult and dangerous cases. The high point was undoubtedly meeting Emmaline Von Morganstern, a field operative and sorceress who took Eleanor under her wing. While their relationship began as teacher/student it has evolved into a romantic one and the pair have now been together for nearly four years. Two years ago Eleanor worked in a case that ended in disaster when an attempt to disrupt a demonic loci went horribly wrong. Three team members were killed and Eleanor was critically injured and spent several weeks in hospital. The same operation convinced Emmaline to retire from active field work. Although it isn’t spoken off, the events of that night left deep scars on both women. Quirks: Despite the tropical heat Eleanor never sunburns and never sweats.
Relationships: Primrose Chastain - (Wary Optimism) Primrose has a lot of potential, if she can be trusted. Illusionists are bad enough, a short step from warping the senses to warping the mind, but that name… There are whispers of a tome called the Imperial Dynasty of America which mentions the Chastains, but no one I know has ever seen a copy. Why is she doing this? She dosen’t need the money. Malcador Ravenwood - (Exasperated Contempt) Where in the seven hells do they dig up these cretins? My bet is that some succubus or another will bite off his member and be wearing his stones for a necklace within a month. Jaelle Codona - (Genuine Warmth) So many of my friends are dead, it's nice that this one can still talk to me. That story about seducing the King, the Queen and the Crown Prince all in the same afternoon was KILLER. Shame she cant get further from Mal, its like an anti-restraining order. Fynn Laplace - (Benign Indifference) Low level tech gremlin. What kind of demonic pact could lead to a fate as horrible as working in IT? As for the other thing, banishment rounds make good neighbors… Alyx Bellamy - (Piqued Interest) Alyx is a mystery to me, like me she has no time for bullshit, but she also has this creative intensity that seems to draw me to her. I hope that field work doesn't chip away at her vitality.
