His brown hair flares out in a ragged fashion, while his beard is kept at least somewhat groomed. Scars cover his face and body, most notably a jagged blade mark across the right side of his face. He typically wears beskar armor as befits a Mandalorian, and is virtually never seen without it by choice. When forced to wear other clothing, Alric favors typical spacer leathers. A nondescript brown cloak is typically worn over his armor. Background: Born on a remote hole in the Outer Rim, Alric seemed destined to a life of mediocrity as the life of two agricultural workers. However, that life wasn't to be. At the age of three, Alric could barely comprehend the significance of a group of slavers descending upon their planet. All he knew was fire, smoke, and the sensation of being torn out of his mother's dying arms. With a decent amount of potential cargo captured, the slavers prepared to leave when they were set upon by a band of Mandalorian commandoes descending from orbit in shuttles. Unbeknowst to the pirates, these mercenaries had been following them for weeks. They hadn't been able to catch up in time to save the settlement's population, but they'd managed to avenge them. In the aftermath, while the Mandalorians of Clan Lann freed all the slaves that were taken, they did wind up taking in one foundling when they were unable to reunite him with any family on the planet. As a foundling, Alric accompanied Clan Lann as they conducted mercenary work throughout the Outer Rim and in Mandalorian space, learning their ways. He spent his youth training until he was of age to accompany the clan into battle. Alric quickly proved himself as an adept warrior, rising through the ranks over the years until he found himself as second-in-command of the entire clan. He served with distinction throughout the Clone Wars as Clan Lann took contracts for the Confederacy, given that the Banking Clans paid better and that clones of a fellow Mandalorian would be harder foes than mere droids. During the founding of the Galactic Empire, Clan Lann was regrouping on Mandalore itself after a successful contract. As such, it was in position to resist when the Empire occupied Mandalore, but to little avail. Clan Lann found itself crushed just as many other clans resisting imperial occupation did, but to a greater degree. When forced into a corner, Clan Lann did not kneel, and was massacred for their defiance. A proud Mandalorian clan with history dating back to the days of Mandalore the Ultimate was wiped out in a matter of minutes. Except for one man. To this day, Alric doesn't understand how or why he survived the slaughter, only that he awoke among the corpses of his brothers and sisters as the lone survivor. Furious but powerless to do much as one man, Alric fled Mandalore in disgrace, taking up solo work for a time across the Outer Rim as he tried to figure out how to piece his shattered life back together. The Empire had taken everything from him, and he would give all that he had left to ensure it paid. An entity such as the Empire would require the combined strength of every Mandalorian across the galaxy to resist, scattered and disparate as they were. The clans and houses would have to be united under a new Mand'alor. Himself. But that would be a difficult path. For one, he'd have to find a large gathering of Mandalorians in one place outside of the homeworld to attempt to rally. That particular conundrum solved itself as rumors of the Grand Alliance and many Mandalorians joining it began to spread throughout the Outer Rim. Galvanized by the thought of a mass alliance to oppose the Empire, Alric set off for Alliance space as soon as he could, intent on gathering as many allies as possible with which to conduct raids on Imperial space, whether they be Mandalorian or not. Skills: Mandalorian Veteran - Trained from a young age in the ways of Mandalorian combat, Alric is as skilled a commando as one could expect. Decades of combat across the galaxy have only honed his skills, leaving him with experience fighting in both the underworld and on the battlefield. This has also had the side effect of building his reputation within mercenary and Mandalorian circles, ensuring that he is somewhat of a recognized name among the galaxy's soldiers for hire. Aspiring Warlord - As befitting a man who seeks the title of Mandalore, Alric is an experienced leader of men both on and off the battlefield, having had plenty of experience being second-in-command of Clan Lann. He has a mind for managing people, hearing their wants, and determining how best to deal with them. In the field, he leads by example, being the first into the fight and the last out, making sure his own people get in and out of the fight alive. Weaknesses: Last of His Clan - With the remainder of Clan Lann slain by the Empire, Alric stands as the only remaining member. This has essentially isolated him among Mandalorian society. With no clan, he has no support group or core faction with which to bolster his political ambitions. As such, his path to legitimacy and recognition among the clans and houses will be a long one. Warmonger - Alric's political position is clear: the Galactic Empire must fall in open warfare, and the Grand Alliance must militarize in full against the Imperial threat. This naturally puts him at odds with certain Alliance factions not in favor of total war, and limits his options for allies outside of Mandalorian space. Martial Pride - Despite his decades of combat experience, Alric still has an easily-pressed button: single combat. His pride as a Mandalorian warrior demands that he follow the code and accept challenges to duels, and he is easily baited into such as a result, no matter how pragmatic the rest of his mindset and tactics are. Equipment: DC-17m Interchangeable Weapon System - A modular weapon that can be instantly configured into a blaster rifle, a sniper rifle, or a grenade launcher based on the attachment fit to it. How Alric acquired a clone commando's primary weapon is unknown, and he's certainly not telling. WESTAR-35 Blaster Pistol - Popular among many Mandalorian commandoes. Typically by Alric used in close-quarters-combat alongside a vibroknife in the other hand. Mandalorian armor - A full suit of beskar armor, passed down to Alric upon the previous owner's passing. Equipped with a missile-mounted jetpack as is standard among several Mandalorian warriors. Mandalorian vambraces - Beskar vambraces equipped with launchers for multiple concealed weapons. Mounted on Alric's vambraces are a whipcord launcher, dart launchers, flamethrowers, and wrist rockets. Miscellaneous - Vibroknife, grenades, spare commlink, medpac, and holdout pistol.
