[i]Tokyo, Japan, 2019. Over the last fifty years, rumours have spread around the world about how the ever-forward march of technology has brought man into contact with beings outside of our understanding of the world. Perhaps among whispers of moth-like humanoids haunting small American towns and plesiosaurs who survived the K-Pg extinction event to thrive in a Highlands loch, you may have heard of Digimon; monsters of all shape and sizes from a world just out of our reach, where matter is digital rather than analog.

The truth is, if you’ve heard of one, you’ve heard of the other. Though they long predate the Digital Age, recent technological developments have brought us back into regular contact with these beings, a state of affairs that the powers that be in both the Analog and Digital Worlds have come to an uneasy accord in order to navigate. Though this accord holds steady for now, the fact remains that both worlds fear this convergence as an omen of some great cataclysm; for as the boundaries of our worlds become blurred, so too do the boundaries between their inhabitants…

You may have already guessed by the title and the above, but this is a Digimon RP that uses the Digivice and Partner system from Digimon Frontier, the [url=https://wikimon.net/D-Scanner]D-Tector[/url] and [url=https://wikimon.net/Legendary_Spirits]Spirits[/url]. However, this RP isn’t aiming to be a remake or ‘fix’ for that series; rather, it'll take elements from it and use them in a setting with a science fiction and horror focus more akin to Digimon Tamers and Digimon Ghost Game. Accordingly, the D-Tectors in this RP’s universe don’t use physical artifacts like the Spirits of the Warrior Ten to transform humans into Digimon, but rather the lingering spirits of Digimon who have formed a contract with a chosen human. Through unfettered exposure to the volatility and transformative power of the human psyche, the full potential of these Digimon is released; and through achieving mutual understanding and purpose, heights of power seldom seen in either world since antiquity may yet be reached. 

This RP is looking for a relatively small group size - perhaps 4 to 6 people - to participate in what will be an RP that goes to some dark places, including cults, death, and human experimentation. This is not to say there will not be any light-hearted or comedic bits, but simply that the RP draws a lot of its inspiration from horror sources and there will be times where such light-hearted/comedic bits won’t work. This RP is intended to last for quite some time as, much like the series itself, it will have story arcs and may include player-suggested arcs as well.
