But really, she wasn't much help. They finally found a place to rest, and as they started to set up camp, everything returned to her. She had known it was weird that she couldn't remember living here as old as she had been. It still didn't make sense why those memories had been repressed. But it didn't matter because she had them all back again. Her heart sang for a moment at the memories flashing through her mind. She paused and thought about one that seemed to stand out. A core memory, she supposed. It was her mom teaching her to use a bow. And she was good with it. No wonder she had been so drawn to it. She mentally thanked the Buckners for fostering that love of the woods. And, of course, it always felt like home, even if it wasn't quite right. Her whole childhood had been in the woods of this place. Not this specific place. That still was a way away. But it was within reach. She knew where home was now. They should move away from Rumple. Though, the man had stepped away. They could easily be compromised. "He knows our faces." He said. "He works for her." He didn't say Malificent's name, not out of some fear of her hearing it, but because they were in a crowded room, and if anyone else overheard them, it could make things awkward. Then he was distracted. As memories from living in Wonderland surfaced. He hadn't expected to remember anything. He had been a toddler when they had been taken to Kansas. Something special stood out to him, though. He and Maddie had known each other. That made sense, of course, since their fathers were...friends, he supposed. There they were, both little, listening to Chesire tell stories about all the lands. It was a sweet memory. He smiled at Maddie and then nodded. "Same. I remember being in Wonderland." His smile was whimsical.
