[color=39b54a]Planet Names and Descriptions[/color]
[b]Hyginus[/b]: A large moon covered in a thick layer of ice, under which are subterranean layers of rock and oceans of liquid methane.
The surface is uninhabitable, a surface colony would have to deal with extreme cold, thin atmosphere, constant radiation bombardment and extreme meteorological change, because of this all cities are either underground or up in orbit.

[b]Quaoar[/b]: A glacial moon with very similar conditions to Hyginus but slightly smaller in size and with a weaker gravitational pull, Quaoar is also inhabited but to a lesser degree than Hyginus.

[b]Cygni Geminae[/b]: The system is centred by two red dwarfs, in their orbit is a gas giant with the two inhabited moons, orbiting the stars is also a molten world, there are no native species from the Cygni Geminae system.

[color=39b54a]History[/color]: Information on the early colonisation of Hyginus is scarce, what is known is that it was first a mining colony and remained such until the arrival of the ark and subsequent closure of the gateways.
At the beginning of their isolation the scattered colonies of Hyginus would each compete with each other, forming alliances and rivalries during this era of conflict, unification happened around 120 years ago when a heavily militarised faction took over all their rivals and formed Hyginus as we know it today.
Hyginus has since then been controlled by its military branch, civilian positions are directly correlate to military ones, at the top of this system are the First and Second Star Admirals.
Hyginus has remained relatively isolationist as the current government claims to defend the citizens from outside threats, even if there are no threats to worry about, trade and movement of people is still allowed but are both highly regulated.

[color=39b54a]Culture and Society[/color]: Hyginian culture puts the nation itself on a pedestal while individuals can pursue their goals they ultimately exist to further the nation, a life dedicated to serving in the military is considered the most virtuous thing anyone can do.
Hyginians are pioneers at heart and are not afraid of challenges thrown at them, in the harshest conditions Hyginians tend to stick together, because of this the smaller and further away colonies are much more tightly nit than the large urban colonies.
Language is a blend of Spanish, Portuguese and French that has changed over time and would be hardly understood by someone who knows the original languages.

[color=f7941d]Religion[/color]: Most Hyginians are atheists but a large minority follows the 'Church of Two' a religion that holds that the number Two is holy and the closest concept to perfection and the divine, a portion of Twoist are also Christians that is the next largest religion in Hyginus, other religious minorities exist and are largely tolerated.

[color=f7941d]Governance and Politics[/color]: Hyginian society is heavily stratified, at the bottom are the Denizens, these are people who haven't met their yearly quotas of work hours and are thus considered a plague in society and forced to work in labour camps.
Then are the Citizens, these people have met their yearly work quotas and have rights to the most basic healthcare and insurances, Citizens don't have to join the military but by law they can be levied in case of a national emergency but this has not happened in over a century.
Finally are the various Officer Ranks and Commissars that have varying degrees of control over society, the hierarchy is extremely strict and any officer/commissar has to answer to a higher up, apart from the Star Admirals of course.

[color=f7941d]Technology Overview[/color]: Technology is not particularly advanced, Tech Committee has been constantly trying to keep up some level of progress, even if minimal.
Energy is generated primarily by Fusion Power but Methane generators still common due to being a lot cheaper and faster to build, in fact smaller colonies rely on methane for energy generation.
Common weaponry uses gas propellant as hydrogen or methane, railguns and coilguns are rare and mostly just for large artillery pieces, laser weapons do not exist.
Advanced self-learning AIs are banned in Hyginus, but simple robots and cybernetics are present, genetic modifications are also allowed but very simple and mostly of limited medical use.

[color=f7941d]Military Overview[/color]: The Hyginian military is vast as most regular soldiers are essentially forced into military service, they are equipped with basic equipment and are considered meatshields in real combat scenarios, there are more elite formations of commandos and armoured ground support.

The Hyginian Navy on the other hand is more advanced and has much larger funds, many ships are small Corvette-classes equipped for recon and skirmishing, Cruisers are the backbone of the navy and can carry large artillery pieces or many smaller crafts onboard, finally Command Ships are few and far between and are heavily armoured juggernauts meant to be the center of operation for the fleet.
