He was exhausted, and spent nearly the entire class in a dazed and confused state. Miss Okamoto tried to take a shot at him with a surprise question, but Chen had already read so far ahead and re-read so much of the book the question might as well have been "What is 2 + 2?" Chen let out a groan and wiped the drool from his face as he sat up and tried to wake himself up. Chen had spent the previous night staying up until the early morning hours trying to research his newfound obsession. He spent hour after hour scrolling through dozens of websites and online journals absorbing as much information as he possibly could, occasionally using the book he had purchased as a supplement for more resources. Unfortunately, after just a couple of hours, Chen's brain had become completely fried, and any information after that point was only absorbed in small, out-of-context shards. He'd likely have to re-read much of the content from the early morning and previous night. Especially the book. Fortunately, despite his sleep deprived mind managed to remember to actually bring the book to school. But he'd need a quiet place to re-read it. He considered for a brief second going to Wantanabe's, but quickly dismissed the idea. He liked to think that he and the old man were on good terms, and wouldn't want to ruin that by sitting around awkwardly in a corner an reading a book. The book store he got it from was certainly a decent choice, but it also left him open to the public and its infinite nonsense. Where else was there? Well, there was the school's library, it was usually pretty quiet, and he had spent quite a lot of time there before. That seemed like a decent place to start. Of all else failed he could always just go home. Chen packed up his things and made the short trek to the library. He was finally beginning to wake up, and it was as if his brain was slowly coming back online. He didn't know how long it would last, but as long as it did, he was going to be taking advantage of it.
