I knew this wasn't going to be easy, especially working with people who were basically complete strangers, but I think we all contributed equally to the plan. My choice to breach through a separate window from the others took the grunts by surprise. She kicked the gun away and called the police, and it was taken care of from there. That was the day she realised she had the power to stand up to more people like that petty thief, and began working on an application to Crystal Peak University to begin to develop her skills.[/indent]

From her mother, she is able to manipulate ice and snow, to the point where she can snap-freeze water molecules in the air and reshape it to suit her needs, or cause a localised snowfall in the air. From her father, she began to grow a fully flight-capable set of cream-and-white feathered wings in early adolescence, and has already taught herself to fly as part of her fitness regimen.[/indent]

[indent]Lisette's powers are less effective in heated or dry environments, as there is less water to freeze into a form she can manipulate. She doesn't handle high temperatures well, and without maintaining direct control over the ice she is working with, her power over it often has a short duration and limited effectiveness; she needs to maintain concentration to prevent ice from melting when left to its own devices.

In addition, she is physically fragile as a result of her lightweight frame and hollow bone structure, and takes injuries easily without some manner of protection.[/indent]

[indent]Born and raised in surburban New York, Lisette's childhood was primarily in a middle-class household of just herself and her mother. Alissandra Keene knew the risks going in of raising a daughter alone, so she dedicated the vast majority of her life to caring for Lisette and showing her the value of true unconditional love.

The Keenes' lives changed drastically when Alissandra met the novelist Reika Tatsuyama at a bookstore. Ms Tatsuyama was holding a book-signing event to promote the second book in her [i]Starsteel Crown[/i] series. The debut novel, released eighteen months prior, was a smash hit among teen readers, and Reika's publisher was clamouring for sequels. Alissandra and Reika found more than friendship; they found love. Five years (and three books) later, they were married in a simple but elegant ceremony. Lisette, too, had come to love Reika as family by the age of twelve, and took both of her mothers' surnames as her own. Moving into Reika's fancy penthouse apartment shaped her experience of living as well, but her mothers made sure to temper her with a modest lifestyle despite Alissandra and Lisette being catapulted into the high life all of a sudden.

Lisette's inherited powers began to manifest at age thirteen, when she accidentally froze a glass of water halfway through drinking it. A week later, fledgling wings began to grow from her shoulders. In addition to Alissandra's guidance, her parents paid for a tutor, telekinetic Will Gray, to help her keep her powers in check. During her teenage years, she took to her training and her high school studies with equal intensity, learning to fly as part of a fitness regimen that Will had set up for her - though Lisette often lamented her parents' regular reminders to take a bus home instead of flying, routinely bringing up the point that flying to the top floor balcony, rather than taking the lift, is good exercise.

She hasn't been without her challenges: in the later years of high school, she was approached more than once by boys - and the occasional extremely shy girl - who wanted to ask her out on a date. But they were complete strangers to her, and she had been warned about this by her mothers, so she chose to turn them down every time. Until the football team's star quarterback asked her out, and her handful of close friends pressured her into saying yes. This turned out to be a mean-spirited prank organised by a heartless bitch of a cheerleader, and only drove Lisette further away from the idea of dating anyone despite her friends helping her recover. Even years later, she responds awkwardly to advances.

Like many teens, high school was a difficult time for Lisette. Having so much thrown at her in the span of a few short years meant she had very little idea of what she wanted to do with her life. Even with careers advice counselling, suggestions from her parents, and the occasional discussion with her manager at the café she worked for, she simply couldn't answer the question of what she wanted. So she took a gap year to try to figure it out, and her answer came late. She intervened in a back-alley armed robbery (see [i]Reputation[/i] above), saving a potential victim - and that was what drove her to apply to Crystal Peak University.

With her acceptance to the prestigious academy, Lisette is hoping that a new chapter of her life will be written well, and that she lives up to the expectations of its staff. Having left behind her previous job, she interviewed for barista work at the on-campus café, Daylight Delicacies, and was accepted for her previous experience.[/indent]
