Greetings! I'm BleakBlueJay, also known as Elliot or Eli for short. I'm a 23yo anthropology major from California, and I've been roleplaying most of my life, I think. I got started in games like Runescape and Habbo as a youngster, moved on to stuff like FeralHeart and Wolfquest, done a little forum roleplaying, and I've played real-life games of Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, and Vampire the Masquerade. In the realm of TTPRG, my favorite settings are Shadowrun, Humblewood, and VtM, although I've been wanting to get into Zweihander and recently bought the handbook. In general, I like fantasy settings, preferably low-magic, both urban fantasy and medieval. Character creation is very fun for me, and I like making weird dudes. Some of my favorite OCs have been a hippie firbolg bard named Qiven who is scared of girls and likes to pick flowers, and Vandal the half-orc, half-dwarf spores druid who owns a junkyard. The last time I've done any forum roleplay was probably about six-to-eight years ago? I'm definitely rusty. Given quarantine, I stopped being able to attend in-person TTRPG meetings, and TTRPG over discord voice chat has never worked well for me. I'm a hands-on guy, can't stare at my screen on a voice call for a 6 hour session. Messaging and forums, however, is lower-stress and less time-consuming. As a full-time student, that's pretty valuable to me. So I thought I'd go back to my roots. Do I remember the protocol? Nah. Do I remember any of the terms? Absolutely not. But I'm interested in getting back into the swing of things. Beyond all of that, I've got a few hobbies of my own in my private life. I'm a digital artist, I love video games of all kinds, I like to make beadwork, I like to read, I play a teeny bit of guitar. I like punk music and fashion. A normal evening for me is watching a video essay while playing Valheim or GTA4 (at the moment), singing to my cats, and waiting for my girlfriend to get home from work. I think that's all I've got to say. Feel free to ask questions and introduce yourself back to me! Maybe I'll make a couple friends.
