He was on the floor, hand still holding tightly to his sword. It took him little time to remember why he was not in his bed, and he quickly sat up, moving his attention to where he presumed Lady Smithwood would be. However, her presence was absent. Of course. He studied the sheets and comforter and how they had been moved. His shoulders relaxed. She could be quiet when she wanted to be. That was some sort of relief. His leg flexed along with his arm, and he stood up. He felt stiff some sleeping on the floor, but it came with a conscious of comfort. His hand untucked his pocket watch to view the time. It was later than he had thought. It was a quiet discomfort that he had slept so long and sound. The pocket watch was tucked into his pocket, and next, the rapier was placed along the wall, where a sword carrier was hung. He removed his jacket and draped it onto the hook on the coat rack. The first thing he would do was shower. He could still smell the aftermath of the ball on him. There was also a floral scent from Lady Smithwood. While he did not dislike the smell, he found it would be somewhat embarrassing to flounce her in such a matter. He drew in a sigh and looked towards the unkept bed. He had a lot of sorting to do. After his shower, still many things were on his mind, and Lady Smithwood was amongst all of them. Her appearance had caused much turn amongst gossip, which was, again, not surprising. There was a lack of proper surprise in her element that he found unnerving, and for this reason, he decided it was only orthodox to guide her such a decent direction -- by surprising her with a gift. After Prince Felix showered and made himself ready for the day, he discarded the tabloids, sent a message (through a maid named Mathilda) to the Lady, relating her prescence is requested at The Gossamer, forewent having any sort of breakfast, and made his way towards the markets. He had some time before the horse races would begin. In the meantime, he had an entire conversation to hypothesize. Rarely did his meetings with Lady Smithwood go as planned. Occasionally, he felt a warmth towards her, and it was these times he began pondering what could have made such a tendency. Although, he felt some fear in this happening. There were too many unpredictable variables. Last night only proved his point. Of course, last night was the only reason he felt it so necessary to invite her out for an evening. He would rather have them enjoy the festivities without minding each other. However, the current circumstances seemed a little too obvious to ignore. As he had already elaborated in his own mind that scandal was all part of a historical legacy in the royal courts. There were many reasons for scandal, and sometimes the reasons for them were not so obvious. Of course, for power, but beyond such the snake was cunning. And Lady Smithwood was fragile. The seams of her likeness were undone, and he felt it was necessary that he at least make something of the loose threads, if not for the sake of his betrothed, then for his own curiosity. Any scandal hurting the court of the Varian Kingdom was worth his time. With his rapier at his side once again dressed for the athletics of the day -- he would change for the date later tonight contigent upon Lady Smithwood's approval of the request, Prince Felix made his way towards the jewelers. He briefly thought of something easily customizable as so no one else would have it the same. Next, he discarded the idea of a ring. There was something too romantic about it that frightened him, as he had yet to begin dreaming of the perfect wedding ring for her. He did not choose a necklace -- something wrapped around her neck, like a collar. A bracelet seemed far too simple, and if he were to gift her earrings, they would never be seen unless she did something special with her hair, which he would not find attractive. He preferred her hair free flowing, which was some sort of mystery to him, as it matched her personality. While he felt hostile towards her overly whimsical nature, he also found it secretly endearing, which is why he chose a hair piece. It was beautiful and would not attract unwanted attention to any part of her. It would do the opposite. It would exemplify her nobility.
