They might know each other, or at least have seen each other. But they probably haven't interacted very much. The Guardians would discourage people from getting too close to each other until after the bonding since there is such a high death rate. I'll also make it clear in the first post but this is going to be the first real squad everyone is assigned too. I'll leave it up to you guys how much your characters have interacted though.
