With the news of Captain Amazing's death, his longtime self proclaimed rival and fellow defender of justice, Gold Guard disappears from the face of the Earth. Leaving Hero City at the mercy of the multitude of villains that lurk within the scum filled gutters and shadowy underbelly of this once proud city...well not really but it COULD BE and we'd be none the wiser. 

But there is a shining ray of hope in this bleak, dark, and weary time; for the CHAMPs are here to serve and protect the city...one block at a time.

"That should bolster our numbers...maybe." A man muttered to himself as he clicked the submit button to post on his blog. Just then a brick crashes through the window of his dingy apartment, sending bits of glass and wood all over the already messy one room apartment. The man dodges for cover, expecting another barrage of incoming impromptu projectiles from the street. But then, a burly and obviously upset voice could be heard yelling from the street. [b]"Champs? More like CHUMPS! You couldn't even stop one robbery! Thanks for nothing you good for nothing wanabes!"[/b] 

"We really need to get better reviews before the people of Hero City decide to lynch me..." The man said as he picked himself up from the floor of his apartment while dusting himself off, before grabbing a dustpan and broom to help clean the broken glass and splintered wood off his admittedly crusty floor. He could only hope that the next batch of heroes would last longer and bring in more positive responses from the people.

Some context for those unfamiliar with the Mystery Men. Mystery Men is a 1999 action/comedy movie that parodies super hero films where in the main focus isn't with the super powered hero or heroine that saves the day without any issue, but to the amateur crime fighters with not so useful super powers that really shouldn't be super heroes saving the day and being the big damned heroes.

I'd go on but it is a good movie and I recommend you give it a watch if you can for more context or inspiration.
