[@KillamriX88] [@supertinyking] Hey lads, mind giving these a formal approval? I know I'm a GM and all, but like still. I'm going to use them in the next arcs. Speaking of which... I should probably post what they're going to be...
Name: Kilik Daltine Nickname/s: God(self-proclaimed), the Daltine Heir School/Grade: St. Laurel's Academy of Divine Excellence, 3rd year Age: 17 Personality: To others, Kilik may seem like sarcasm and arrogance personified, and this is the truth. Although, not as he sees it. He hails from a family of immense wealth and influence, and he sees it as his duty to carry himself as such. There are many reasons he acts this way, and some may be of a far more noble character than you would think to ascribe to the young heir. But to all he cares not to off-load his worries to, he is no more and no less than what he appears to be, and that is quite the acceptable image to be held up to. Gift/Origin: Kilik’s gift, and the gifts of all in the Daltine family hail from the Underworld. The land of Death, where souls go to be detained for judgment at the end of eternity, and also a place of untold riches waiting to be claimed. They are the God Given custodians of this wealth. Each of their gifts concerns a mineral or material of incredible value which can be extracted from the earth. Backstory: The Daltine family is a family of massive influence. In the old days, they were the de facto arbiters of wealth in not just Rhea, but the world. Gold, silver, precious stones, all could be summoned at a whim by the old masters of the Daltine family. Back in those days, the Daltine family was well aware of this influence and sought to be impartial adjudicators. As the ages have come and gone, currency moved away from purely material values. Labor became the new form of value, and as paper currency began to become the main measure of wealth, the Daltine family were content to step away from their previous role as arbiters of currency. But the absolute stranglehold they had on the earth’s riches was never going to go away. They control the Gold and Silver standard. It would be a simple matter for them to eradicate the fortunes of entire families, by simply summoning more gold and silver from the earth and selling it. Perhaps it’s not that simple in practice, but if the Daltine family wishes it they can also make veins of silver and gold dry up as if they were never there to begin with. Everything under the earth is theirs to command. Surely this would mean members of the Daltine family would have been targeted repeatedly for robbery or assassination, yes? Assassination was a given until the Daltine family decided to rescind their long held control in the modern day. Robbery was, and still is completely unthinkable when it comes to the Daltine family. The riches of the Underworld, it isn’t simply a myth which they came up with to justify their abilities. The riches they extract from the earth are cursed. They all bear the taint of death upon them, and taking such riches without their authorization shall unleash the curse upon you. Misfortune will befall you until you release the riches you had plundered. The reputation of ‘Daltine Gold’ is well known, even now amongst elite circles. No one will buy it from you. The best you can do is to trade it as quickly as possible to some unlucky fool before the misfortune crashes down on your head. If you haven’t gotten one of the bad curses. The Daltine family has some ritual to cleanse their riches, but they are understandably tight-lipped about it. Kilik Daltine, as the young heir of the family is privy to all of this, and more. ‘God’. He has called himself that a few times. In jest of course, but the shape of the modern world could lie in the palm of his hands if he simply wished to reach out and take it. In this world, money could buy strength. He can buy friendship, or enemies if he so desires. His footsteps shine, but it seems nothing else around him shines just as brightly yet. Perhaps he’ll find what he’s looking for in the glimmer of tomorrow’s sunrise. Core Power: Treasury of the Underworld - Gems Kilik has been blessed with the power to summon precious gems and minerals from the earth. They surface at his feet from time to time, and he gains an awareness of these gems once they surface. As his power hasn’t been well developed, he can only summon small chunks of these gems and minerals, small enough to fit between his fingers if he held them up. They come in many varieties, and he can select a specific one to summon, but the quantity depends on the distance the minerals would have to travel.

Sub-power: All of Hell’s Curses, Yours Eternally The gems Kilik summons come straddled with a variety of curses. They don’t correspond to any particular gem or mineral and are instead distributed randomly amongst them. Kilik can identify what curse a gem has upon seeing it or touching it. Some noteworthy curses are listed below;
Curse of Desire - Holders of the gem suffer no immediate effects. But occasionally a thought will intrude into their minds. Touch the gem. A simple urging, but one that does not seem to go away no matter how hard someone may try. Upon making contact with the gem however, their fist will enclose around it and the gem will begin to radiate searing heat. Curse of Greed - A simple curse. The gem when picked up will seem to feel a little heavier than it should be. This sensation will increase over time, until the weight seems unbearable and the person can no longer hold it. The gem will not seem to weigh anything other than what it should to other people. Curse of Misfortune - Outcomes never seem to go your way. It seems to start off with minor things, like always being stuck at a red light, light bulbs shorting out around you. But things can quickly turn deadly; traffic accidents, signs falling, you never know. The Daltine family likes to cause as little trouble as possible, and this curse is very much a troublesome one to clean up after.

Sub-power: All of Hell’s Curses, At My Discretion Kilik has an unusual ability to control his curses. He can choose to suppress the curse for a time for any given gem he has in his hands. Note that this is different to removal of the curse, the curse will re-activate at any time Kilik chooses. A single gem can only have a single curse, but Kilik can exchange one curse for another as long as he has a gem with that curse in his other hand.
Sub-power: All of Hell’s Curses, Enraptured in Brilliance Kilik’s unusual ability to control his curses has led to a strange new power, which may be specific to his ability to summon Gems as opposed to the less tensile, more malleable metals his family often summon. He can cause the Curse within a gem to swell and expand, straining at its confines until it eventually explodes. The explosion has certain properties depending on the curse it contained within it, each one acting as a temporary, but potent version of each curse’s final manifestation. The Curse of Greed for example, when Enraptured causes all people who are caught in the light to be weighed down for a short time. It takes a few moments for Kilik to build the pressure necessary to activate the ability. This takes time and focus, and he can possibly be interrupted if his will is not up to the task.

Name: Salaman Erkinaan Alderan Nickname/s: None that he would want to admit to… School/Grade: Lord Kiburi's School for the Truly Exceptional, 1st year Age: 15 Height: 5’ 6” Appearance: He has red hair and wears his school uniform most of the time, with the addition of an enchanted scarf which protects from fire. The school uniform might be hard to recognize because many students of Lord Kiburi’s don’t bother wearing it, but he will assure you he is wearing it properly. Personality: A little milquetoast. There are many wild and colorful personalities that line the halls of Lord Kiburi’s Academy for the Truly Exceptional, but Salaman Erkinan Alderan is simply not one of them. He would admit to having an affinity for quieter spaces, and he would most certainly not admit to being afraid of the loud ones. One of the rules of Lord Kiburi’s Academy after all is as stated; don’t be a wimp. He has to try very hard not to be caught in disregard of this rule. Bio: Salaman Erkinan Alderan bears a heavy name, and an even heavier destiny. He inherits the name of heroes. His family’s legacy is that of myths and legends. He is their first-born son, he bears the responsibility of their ancient legacy. The Ancient Evil was pushed back to enclaves around the world during the War for the Heavens. But while the Ancient Evil remained in existence at all, it would have to be sealed so that it could not possibly harm any living thing. This seal took the form of Magic, as while the Ancient Evil had the power to destroy the Gods and their constructs, Magic which was created in collaboration between Humans and Gods could not be corroded by the Ancient Evil. There would need to be guardians to oversee these seals. These Guardians would have to pass down their duty until the threat posed by the Ancient Evil was fully eradicated beyond the shadow of a doubt. The line of Alderan is an unbroken line of one of these ancient protectors. They uphold this duty to the modern day. Until death, they protect the seal. Nowadays ‘death’ usually happens to be of old age though. The threat of the Ancient Evil has long been one that exists only in history books. Truth be told, though they still revere their oath, and understand the potential catastrophe that could occur if they were ever to break it, they’ve become… a little loose with the rules so to speak. Only in certain areas, of course. They would never dream of being lax in their duties, but the rules for informing their descendants about their all-important task have been a little… stretched. For example, Salaman’s father, the current heir of the Seal of Flame, the Alderan’s charge, informed him properly of the whole circumstances of their God-sworn duty about three days before his fifteenth birthday. “I was supposed to tell you about it on your fifteenth birthday, but this is close enough probably,” Salaman’s father had said over a fantastic dinner of Rigatoni alla Gricia, with garlic bread. His family was there as well, and a few cousins and uncles/aunts that had decided to come over for dinner that day. Salaman hadn’t had any knowledge of their sacred duty prior to this day. He would take a note later that the casual delivery of the line; “I don’t think the world is going to die if you’re not ready to take over or anything, but you should probably take the preparations seriously when it comes around,” didn’t really seem to match the gravity of the situation. That incident was about 3 months ago at this point and Salaman still doesn’t know how to feel about this new destiny of his. There’s still quite some time before he has to take up the mantle. His father may be one of the first that will retire the role instead of protecting it until death, leaving Salaman to inherit it at a relatively young age, but that still won’t be for another decade at least. He’s had to worry about making friends for his entire high school life in a school he wouldn’t have chosen if he had to choose. Besides that, just the normal high school things like making sure he gets good grades, and makes a lasting impression. And now, this. Not to mention that it seems Lord Kiburi has taken some sort of interest in him. He seems to have plans for him, and his gift. Lord Kiburi and his father have long been friends, perhaps he has something in mind for the initiation his father told him about but Salaman hadn’t seen hide or hair since. Or maybe… it was something else…? Core Power: Salaman has inherited his family’s gift for Fire Magic, specifically in the use of Runes. Runes are an Ancient technique. A solidification of Magic Potential in the medium of Flame for the Alderan family. Spells crafted using Runes tend to last longer, and the Runes themselves have a tangible physical form. The art that the Alderan family specializes in is Runecraft, the weaving together of Runes in the likeness of objects and creatures from myth and legends. Salaman specializes in weaving creatures of myth together. So far in his time learning the family magic, he has mastered the creation of three specific creatures. For each of his creatures, he must take the time to weave the runes together from scratch. There are several formulas he can apply to hasten the creation of these creatures, formulas for scribing several runes at once, but a spell of this level of complexity will take time no matter what.

Sub-power: This Runecrafted creature takes the form of a massive serpent of legend, said to have been long enough to wind around the world 6 times. Salaman’s version has a limit for the length it can really be crafted until it would end up falling apart under the complexity of its own rune structure. A snake has a very simple structure that repeats itself, so the serpent is relatively easy for Salaman to make. At his quickest, he could summon a small version of the snake in about one minute. It would only be long enough to wrap around one person. The snake will wrap around its target, and then it will unleash the flames contained within its runic construction, before cannibalizing them all and self-destructing in a fiery explosion.
Sub-power: This Runecrafted construct is based on an ancient automaton that was said to have defended a certain coastal kingdom’s borders once upon a time. Salaman’s best direct combat construct. It is capable of the same self-destruction abilities as the snake, but is far less agile so Salaman won’t tend to use it for that. At its shortest, it stands at 7 feet tall because of the required construction to make it move and listen to orders. At its tallest, it can rival a two-storey building. The more complex construction needs to allow tolerances for gravity and weight distribution. If he makes it much bigger, it would crush itself under its own weight. It can attack with its fists and body as a solid construct, but it can also unleash a stream of fire from its hands. It will not stop advancing until its body is fully destroyed, or Salaman unsummons it.
Sub-power: This Runecrafted construct is based on ancient legends of a blazing bird, said to be immortal, that kindled flames down below as it flew through the sky. Unlike the others, Salaman is not as adept at creating this construct so he varies very little in its construction. He can only create the same pattern again and again, because of the complexity and esoteric conceptualization required. He has a chance to fail the summoning of this creature. He can always try again, but his magic reserves are finite. As a trade-off, it is his strongest summon. It has the ability to create a blazing firestorm in his immediate surroundings. Salaman would not be immune to the effects without his signature scarf, and his friends would not be so lucky if they were caught in its radius. This firestorm rekindles traces of Fire Magic still remaining in the area. If Salaman’s constructs are not fully destroyed before their rune formations collapse, the Phoenix can resurrect them to a stable version of whatever stage they happened to be before their disappearance. It will also repair their rune structure if it has been damaged but they are still alive.
