"Gather 'round the campfire young ones and listen to the story of the time from before, the time of astronauts, airplanes and compooters... "Mankind was once strong, and spanned the entire globe all the way roundy-round!!!" "But we grew FAT, well- fatter than me, and complacent! We gave away our freedoms for temporary secoority." "The information-age they called it, everyone was sippin the information thru a straw, until it all went dark." "Ya see that sky tonight? Green and Blue and Purple? T'wasnt always like that. Thats what knocked out the information-age. The Sun herself decided it was time for a change. Heh-heh" "Then all hell broke loose. Ten! Different kinds of horsemen 'o the apocalypse. Everyone was blamin' eachother! And you can still see the scars..." "Dont go outside the gates at night OR in DAY to pick berries without clearance from an elder. There are still weapons-platforms out there stalkin around..." Anyone who found it tried to make it their home, their Hardhold. But only a few ones were exceptional, like the Bluestone family. They had the training, the vision and yes, sometimes the guile to make something out of Niverrock that it wasnt once before and reminded us all, that life was worth living. These Bluebloods have a finger in every pie in Niverrock!" In this game you play a member of the Bluestone family in line of succession for the position of Chieftan. This game will have a great degree of intrigue, statecraft, resource management and civ building, it is also a survival game and an exploration game. The apocalypse started August 2022, and the progress of all information technology ceased at that time. All circuit-based technology is completely out of action aside from a few sought after 'relics'. However technology has still advanced in other ways. In absence of information technology, good old-fashion mechanical engineering has taken its place. Think of modern era steam punk, and you have the right idea. In this game you will have to fight, drifters, diseases, famine, wild animals, rival towns and even left over "weapons platforms".

First Name (Nickname?) Last Name
(Image goes here) ideally id like a real person's face, bonus if it shows off your style points, explained later. However i will accept anime pictures if the person states a very good case for them. "Character quote" Gender: gender Age: age History: Write at least 3 paragraphs for your character's history. This must include upbringing, where they've lived most of their lives, and what they've done so far (roughly, details not necessary). Heredity: Pureblood Bluestones are more likely to be selected to succeed their father. However it is possible to make halfblood Bluestones that are half from a different family. This can be used as a cause de jure to explain a different skill set or entirely different upbringing. You must however explain your exact relationship to the clans chieftain. I.e. they are your uncle, you are their brother, you are their 3rd daughter etc. Characteristics: We're starting off with a simple 5 dot system. If you have 5 dots you are a virtuoso, if you have less, then not so much. You cannot have less than 1 dot minimum. You start with 15 dots to share out between the following characteristics. Intellectual: Representing; Memory, Perception, Creativity, Strategy Physical: Representing; Strength, Toughness, Agility, Endurance, Maximum health points Defense: Aptitude at protection Offense: Aptitude at attacking Style Points: Representing; Charisma, Fellowship, Animal Magnetism, Luck (yes in Hardholder you can literally survive better in the apocalypse by being stylish) Wealth: Starts at 2000 dollars US stipend. (Cannot be increased by dots, only in game actions. Any equipment that is available on the internet for purchase you can reasonably own.) Complications: You can add an additional dot to any characteristic by taking a complication. Complications are activated by the GM, whenever he feels like it and it WILL happen at the worst possible time. Skills: Insert 5 skills here. These are the 5 things that you do so well it is like a flow state for you. They are more than just education or hard-won experience, they are what makes you special. Choose them well because they cannot be changed, except for pursuing an in game quest. When doing this particular skill, you enter 'flow state', and your action is much more likely to be completed. You might want to give a que to the rest of the group that you are in flow state by repeating your favorite quote from above, i say "might". Profession: Everyone in Niverrock has to prove themselves useful to the community. Infact there is so little money, food and fuel that people who cannot contribute are generally exiled. Dollars are never used, but gold and barter are much more common. So i ask you to pick a job. This is actually quite important when completing quests as you can choose to either go on an exploration quest with the group, or you can focus on growing your business and/or acquiring some form of equipment with your job. I leave the job title up to your imagination, but in general, shy away from overly specialized jobs such as accountant or statistician. Example jobs include: Trapper, Saloon Owner, Medicine man/woman, Mechanic (aka Smith), Town Guard, Cult Preacher, Merchant etc. Weapons: Bought from your wealth stipend Gear/Tools: Bought from your wealth stipend
GM Rules: * You cant control another person's character, you also cant control NPCs. However, if you create an NPC through the History portion of your charsheet, then this person can occasionally be used as a foil for your main character without creating too much trouble. In fact i encourage this. * No bullying, this includes Cry-bullying. * Lets all try to act like adults here * Character art style: Im sure you already have a mental image but here is some examples of characters that live in Niverrock: "Barny" a Town Guard, his great grandfather was a state policeman. "Amelia" a Scavenger / Trapper. She is also something of an antiquarian and tries to track down 'relics'. "Shock" a kid, just a kid. I dont know why she wears that earpiece, it obviously doesn't work, kids are so weird.
