Several millennia ago, Lucifer and his army tried to conquer the mortal world. While many minor demons were captured and sealed away, there were seven who's capture was essential to the humans winning the war. They were the seven generals of Hell: The Seven Deadly Sins of Sloth, Wrath, Pride, Envy, Greed, Lust, and Gluttony. Seven Hosts were chosen as those with strong moral fiber to resist the temptations of the Sins. For the rest of their now immortal lives, the Hosts would have to live in a constant mental war against one of the seven most powerful demons in history. Fast-Forwarding to modern day, The Seven - as the Hosts have come to be known - are now living among us as regular people. After millennia of battling Lucifer's forces, The Seven have discovered they can briefly tap into the powers of their respective demons. In addition, the Hosts are immune to any and all physical damage now thanks to the Sins, but spiritual and magical attacks can still harm them just fine. All the while, the Sins have their own plans and agendas. While they seek freedom, they each have different thoughts and ideas about how to secure said freedom. If the Host were to simply relinquish the demon, the Sin would be set free. Or... if the Host were to die, the Sin could leave the body easily as they are no longer bound to it. How your Demon goes about battling their respective Host is yours to decide as you write.
Curses
Each Sin also has a unique effect on the humans they inhabit. Think of this as part of how they torture the human to get them to relinquish the Sins. Each Curse involves a form of torture that is specific to the Sin's attributes.
To summarize further, all characters are at least millennia old, likely know eachother, and have been heavily tortured by their respective demons who would most easily benefit if they can convince or influence a successful suicide from their host bodies. All attitudes and maturity levels should be parallel to one who has seen and done everything for at least 1000 years with a constant torturous itch to inflict death upon themselves. Does that sound right? And if so, it seems like every active character would be absolutely bored and depressed. Would it serve an RP better for the demons to have successfully convinced their previous hosts to off themselves (or they die in battle) and new hosts are chosen, having to deal with this whole demon infestation with a fresh slate and continued new experiences for how to cope with being a new host?
