To most people in the outside world, he is a laid back and charming young guy who just seems content to ride through life on his skateboard with his camera in his hand. He loves his friends, he loves nature and he’s always up for an adventure or two. He is the type of guy that would give you the shirt off of his back and be the first to help when you needed aide. He is philosophical and open to new ideas and thoughts whether he truly understands them or not. Adam cares deeply about people and tends to form bonds rather quickly and intensely, which is likely due to his lack of unmonitored socialisation and abandonment issues from his mother leaving and his father ripping him out of his own life. Adam’s other side is quite different. In spite of all the love he has to give, the Callahan boy finds it difficult to trust thanks in part to all of his trauma. After years of abuse, Adam is barely able to function without a routine to find his centre and if anyone ever watched his daily regimen, they would see that it borders self-harm. In a way, he suffers from Stockholm syndrome as despite his escape from the clutches of his father and Sensei, Adam still has to use their respective teaching and techniques just to get through his day. He is a fantastically disciplined boy who tries to stay in control of his emotions as best he can but Adam has his triggers and when pulled, he can be downright dangerous.
Biography
Callahan. A name in Edenridge that can mean many things. To some, it is simply the name of a Founding family, a word plastered on local buildings. To others, it’s a legacy of working men and women, grafters and good people. For a few in particular, it was a noose. Thomas Callahan was one of four kids. There was Mary, his oldest sister and then there was his younger siblings, John and Eleanor. One year, all four of the Callahans went off to camp. Only three returned. Mary was a victim of the Hangman. Thomas, who was trapped in the mess hall, was protected by councillor Wayne Ramsey, who used his martial arts skills to keep the killer at bay until the Serpents arrived to save the day. That summer had a deep and profound effect on Thomas. It began a lifelong fascination with the way of the fist and desperate need for control. In Thomas’ mind, if he could control everything, he could protect everything. Fast forward, Thomas has some skill in fighting but he was never a natural talent. Instead he began to focus more on business and eventually got licensed as a sport and talent agent. Thom’s first client was the beautiful young tennis starlet, Charlotte Watts. Still a rookie, Thomas couldn’t help but mix business with pleasure and soon he and Charlotte were an item. When she fell pregnant, Thom was livid. He did not want to keep the baby as it could potentially ruin both of their careers. Charlotte opted to keep the child and being a traditionalist at heart, Thomas agreed and married her. Shortly thereafter their first son, Andrew was born. The pair avoided having any more kids for years before another accident left them with Adam and later on Rachel too. Andrew was a talented football and basketball player which made him a gold mine for his father. Thom was at every game, coaching from the sidelines and talking to scouts for Ivy League colleges on the phone. However Andy did not want to go pro, he just wanted to graduate and be his own person. He watched helplessly as Thomas gave up on him and started pouring all of his attention onto Adam, who had a talent for the martial arts that their father loved so much. Adam was a natural fighter. He had great instincts and even Sensei Ramsey said that he could be better than anyone if he really tried. Yet Adam didn’t. His heart wasn’t in it. Adam loved to skate. He loved to just ride his board, do kickflips and grind rails whilst hanging out with his cousin Roddy and that cute girl Kylee from the haunted mansion on Scott Street. Behind his goofy grin, Adam was a tortured soul because of his home life. With Andrew emancipated and married, their father’s abuse was solely dedicated to him. Every night, Thom would take Adam to the basement to “train” and every morning the boy would go to school with a new bruise on his face or cut on his arm. Adam was beaten and bloodied, all in the name of making him a better fighter. Why? Because to Thom, Adam was not a son, he was a weapon and a tool. He was money. When Adam was fourteen, enough was enough for his mother Charlotte. One evening, in the dead of night, she packed her bags and with Rachel under her arm, fled into the darkness, leaving Adam behind with his father. Infuriated at her betrayal and worried that she might blab about his abuse, Thom decided that it was time that he followed suit. After a blazing row with his brother, John, Thomas stuffed Adam into a car and took off. The pair made it as far as Pinehurst before the senior Callahan’s ego got the best of him. Believing that his wife had no proof, he decided to stop running but avoid Edenridge. Thus began Adam’s imprisonment. Banned from social media, stripped of a cell phone and forced to wear an ankle monitor, Adam’s entire life was transformed into a prison cell. Even when he was enrolled at school, Adam’s behaviour and socialising was reported back to Thom under the guise of a mental health act. Whenever he misbehaved or was caught doing anything without his father’s permission, Adam was locked in the basement of their home. A room that he came to know as the Lion’s Den. He was forced to train without food or water, whilst chained to the wall. The only reprieve he ever got was when he went to the Axe and Hammer Dojo to train with Sensei Zeno. Adam was a star pupil and won multiple championships under Zeno’s banner. Everything came to a head one fateful afternoon when the dojo was putting on an exhibition match for potential new recruits. Adam was pitted against his longtime rival, Tommy Hartmann. The two boys went toe to toe with each other and were even on points when Thom Callahan entered the coaching area. After one too many obscenities yelled, Adam saw red and viciously tore Tommy’s knee apart with a savage repeated attack. Declared the victor but ashamed, Adam fled, chased by his father. With his blood still on fire, the young boy refuted his dad's attempt to calm him and ended up throwing him through a store window before fleeing. Cutting the ankle monitor off and packing the bare minimum, Adam got out of Pinehurst and hit the road. After nearly eighteen months of travelling around New England, Adam finally made his way home to Edenridge, re-entering a world he thought he would never see again…
Family

Thomas Callahan - Father - FC: Thomas Ian Griffith
Charlotte Callahan (nee Watts)- Mother - FC: Jennifer Connolly
Andrew Callahan - Brother - FC: James Lafferty
Rachel Callahan - Sister - FC: Stefanie Scott
Clarissa Callahan (nee Osso) - Sister in Law - FC: Bethany Joy Lenz
Christian Callahan - Nephew - FC: Jackson Brundage
Aurora Callahan - Niece - FCs Chloe Moretz

Callahan

John Callahan - Uncle - FC: Kiefer Sutherland
Edith Callahan (nee Milligan) - Aunt - FC: Julia Roberts
Francis Callahan - Cousin - FC: Matt Bomer
Roderick Callahan - Cousin - FC: Jack O’Connell Costigan
Eleanor Costigan (nee Callahan) - Aunt - FC: Winona Ryder
Sean Costigan - Uncle - FC: Christian Slater
Clayton Costigan - Cousin - FC: Joe Keery
Laura Costigan - Cousin - FC: Shailene Woodley
Sadie Campbell - Cousin - FC: Crystal Reed
Through marriage, Adam is also related to the Milligan, Cleary and Osso Families

Misc.

Tanner Buchanan | 82A989
He is a blackbelt in Kyokushin Karate.
