Devika pursed her lips for a split second, before smoothing her expression. In her mind, Roxy absolutely needed shielding, but in a different way. But - she was tired, and probably cranky. Even if she wasn’t, this was not the best place for a deep conversation. She’d save the confrontation for when they weren’t in public, in front of her parents. “I’ll be fine after I chill out here. And maybe get some of that funnel cake.” With more calm than she felt, she removed her glasses and buffed them on her shirt. The exhaustion in her eyes was obvious. And yet – she just kept on. “I’ve been through worse.”
