[@PKMNB0Y] I'd like to throw my hat in for this if you're still accepting. I just have a Human who would need a partner, although given...well, everything about him, he may end up having to use a weapon instead. If need be I could design a Youkai as well, but I guarantee it'd be double the amount of cringe (so fellow Players, pick your poison!). Lemme know if anything should be fixed. I'm assuming that, at least at this time, Attuned can't have like, "spiritual energy" or psychic abilities if they're not contracted to a real Youkai? +Edits made based on feedback, draft moved back to WIP status.
Name:
Murakami Seiji | 村上 清二
Age:
19
Appearance:

Seiji constantly looks like he's been up too long playing games or web-browsing, because he has. The state of his appearance implies he doesn't do laundry frequently enough or that he's not good at ironing, because both of those things are true. He smells fine though, and is in decent health aside from being pale due to a habitual aversion of the outdoors. He has a pleasant tenor voice, but tends to mumble or talk so lowly most people don't notice. He often still wears his high school uniform despite being a "ronin," (one trying to pass college entrance exams) for "reasons."
Personality:
|| The Face: The Everyman || The Soul: The Magician || The Self: The Lover || The Ego: The Sage || On first glance, Seiji appears to be your run of the mill boring, herbivorous nerd. He lacks personal presence, but also pretense--no indicator of hidden depths. If spoken to directly, many times he makes a noncommittal, cliché answer in a superficial way. He doesn't often seem to go out of his way to make first contact; or perhaps, it's more accurate to say he doesn't follow through on his own initiatives. And yet one of his greatest complaints is one of loneliness, that he has so few friends and especially no experience in serious relationships. He doesn't see himself in the most self-esteemed light, either, at least when it comes to his own physical features, and can be seen to take envious glances at others or mutter covetous woes when other couples are present. All of this said, however, his intelligence and creativity lend him an unmistakable sort of competence and reliability--his excellent grades despite a seeming lack of motivation would imply that he has no problems simply doing "as he's told" and doing it quite well. When it comes to solving a problem, he's efficient and process oriented, taking each step by itself until he's reached the correct conclusion to the whole. When given a task, he makes things happen. After all, regurgitating information is easy--it's when he tries to step outside of that box, and think for himself, that doubts begin to surface. He doesn't like interpersonal conflict, but also has a stubborn side that wants to resist being cheated or losing. To that end he tries to find win-win situations when confronted directly, but trying to weasel his way out of problems often comes off as passive aggressive or manipulative. Deep down, he wants to be seen as someone of value, someone who has life "figured out." He feels like he was duped by the ideals given to everyone in their early lives, like the world should have lived up to his expectations, and yet he clings to those same "feelgoodisms" because he wishes they were true. Despite his performance in school, he doesn't feel prepared for life. He doesn't understand why life--relationships, social success, career happiness--can't be broken down the same way a math problem can; like he should be able to plug the right number into the right formula and get the exact same outcome that someone else got. But instead of looking at other people, he keeps looking for the number and the formula, for the "analysis" that he's missing. And so the things he's missing continue to elude him.
Abilities:

Currently, Seiji hasn't garnered any true supernatural abilities as he hasn't formed a contract. He claims, however, that he is sensitive to "killing intent," despite having no formal combat training or psychological studies. It's probably because he's a coward.
Sharp senses--while not superhuman or on the level of some Youkai, Seiji has a stupidly good set of ears and nose. This actually may be the source of some of his social issues, because he finds it impossible to follow conversations in crowded rooms or enjoy loud parties.
Damn near photographic memory--it's not actually eidetic, but Seiji can recall a surprising amount of information even about seemingly trivial things, especially if he read it in a book or on the internet somewhere. How trustworthy the information he remembers actually IS, may be up for debate.

Skills:

Effortless Victory, or Crushing Defeat--Whether this is a skill or a symptom of mental illness is yet to be diagnosed. Seiji is not dumb by any means and doesn't have issues focusing, so there are quite a lot of things he takes to when he tries them, or would be very good at if he put in the effort--one might say that his "talent" is being a quick learner. However, if he tries something and isn't immediately somewhat proficient at it, he gives up and becomes depressed.
WIP

Equipment:

An amulet he got as a prize in a random konbeni drawing. It's supposed to protect against negative energy--Seiji doesn't realize it broke in half after being in his pocket for an hour.
A pocket-edition of an old, OLD Youkai picture book. He only bought it when he decided to try becoming Attuned. The pages for "Yuki-Onna," "Chinoya," and other conventionally attractive, not-always-hostile, female demons are dog-eared.

History:
While waiting to receive his high school diploma, Murakami Seiji faced the greatest crisis of his young life. For three years, he'd been a proud member of the Gaming Club, even becoming its president--because he was the only one to keep showing up consistently while the others drifted apart. For three years, he had successfully avoided ever being last place on the sports days or getting bullied. For three years, he failed to do anything meaningful. He never met a Palmtop Tiger, or an Invisible Bunny Girl. He never got strongarmed into the S.O.S Brigade, or recruited by a secret organization, or killed and revived by a mysterious beautiful transfer student. And in a world where Youkai were an actual thing, that was bullshit! He had failed to do anything worthwhile or find love, and now high school was over! The best years of his life would be behind him! He hadn't even figured out anything genuine to put on his Career Aspiration form! What the hell was he supposed to do!? Then he saw a new Attunement Company open up in an office building he passed on his way to the train station every day. And the Light Novel Title of his life came into focus: "I'll Contract a Big Titty Demon Girl--For Obvious Reasons!"
Other:

His father is a civil engineer who works for a company specializing in repairing the collateral damage caused by battles between the Grudges and Attuned. That's why Seiji is well off enough to live in an apartment by himself.
He has an older brother pursuing a doctorate in astrophysics, and a younger sister in her last year of middle school.
