A large, wealthy house, its wealth is only surpassed among the Great Houses by House Lannister, and the Tyrells can field the greatest armies. Additionally, if they call the ships of the Redwyne fleet, the lords of the Shield Islands, and the coastal lords, they can command a navy that equals if not surpasses the royal fleet of King's Landing. Highgarden is an ancient seat of rule and the heart of chivalry in the Seven Kingdoms; the Tyrells style themselves 'Defenders of the Marches' and 'High Marshals of the Reach', and traditionally, they have been Wardens of the South in addition to Lords Paramount of the Mander. It was seen as a cold irony that they were rewarded with a glorious bounty with few farmers to reap as there was a struggle to even find farmhands. For the commonfolk, life would continue as those with able hands would be encouraged to farm. For the nobles, however, it was a different story. Lord Leo Tyrell, Lord Paramount of the Reach, was the first casualty of the Tyrells. While tragic, there was hope in his first son, Ryland Tyrell. He took on the reigns of lordship and curbed the plague as best as he was able. Most, if not all houses suffered, and so he ensured that those who avoided the sickness were fed and kept alliances strong by betrothing his sister Rosalynn to Ser Barris Caswell. He put off the wedding, however, as Rosalynn was frail, though he promised that the wedding would happen once the worst of the plague was over. With the unification of the Houses, he proved himself a great leader and made many allies throughout The Reach. But his reign as Lord Paramount was short as he, too, fell to the plague. His wife, Penelope Redwyne, had passed from childbirth. His son was also a victim of the plague, passing shortly after his father did despite everyone's best efforts. The widowed Lynett hadn't the fondest idea how to rule, preferring wines and gossip. She enlisted the help of her brother, Hugh Oakheart, to carry on Ryland's work. But they are at a crossroads: despite having three sons, Steffon, who would be next in line, is sworn to the Kingsguard, and his brother, Sebastyan, gave up his titles once he became a maester. For the time being, Lynett decided to send her daughters to King's Landing to bring back their brother, Steffon, so that he may take Ryland's place as the rightful heir to Highgarden. Little do they know, however, that Highgarden would soon know its first Lady Paramount...
[sub][ ⚔ ] P O V s[/sub]

ROSALYNN TYRELL
[sub][ ⚔ ]House[/sub]

Tyrell
[sub][ ⚔ ]Birthdate[/sub]

Summer of 192 AC
[sub][ ⚔ ]Reputation[/sub]

The first daughter of Leo Tyrell was forever marked as a frail young girl. From the time she was a small child, she was quite sickly. Many were surprised to hear that she was to be betrothed to Barris Caswell as most had assumed she would have passed. There aren't many impressions of her as a result, though the few that have come to visit the Tyrells would note how soft-spoken she was. Always respectful, she played cupbearer to her father's meetings when she felt well enough. Fortunately, she made more appearances as she got older, and there was a rumor that her father wanted to marry her off to one of the other Great Houses. However, once the Spring Sickness reached Highgarden, her father ordered her to a tower far from others. Both her father and brother were fiercely protective of her and feared she would become a victim of the plague. The fact that she survived both her father and brother is an irony that is not lost on anyone. That said, there is an interesting opportunity; as the heiress to Highgarden with a betrothed that has also passed, this has put her in quite the position.
[sub][ ⚔ ]Appearance[/sub]

Rosalynn is a young woman of average height and average Tyrell features. She has long, dark brown hair and green eyes, the same as all her siblings and her father. She is, however, much fairer than her siblings. She often carries herself with much grace, her mannerisms subtle. Her wardrobe is often resplendent as her family often showered her with elegant dresses and fine jewelry, though she avoids anything she sees as too flashy.
[sub][ ⚔ ]History[/sub]

There was once a joke that young Rosalynn confused the maester for her father due to how often he would see her. From birth, Rosalynn has been physically frail, often drawing fevers and being unable to do much exercise. She was doted on as a result, though avoided being spoiled by virtue of being too sick to get into any trouble. Fortunately, as she got older, most of her problems went away, though she was still somewhat delicate. She was educated as her father wished to see her marry, and hoped giving her an education would make her a more appealing wife. It is said that he quietly put aside a large dowry as well to tempt offers, hoping to ally himself with one of the other Great Houses. Before any proposals could be made however, the Spring Sickness swept through The Reach. Her father immediately ordered that Rosalynn be kept away from everyone. She begged him to reconsider but her pleas fell to deaf ears as she was dragged to a tower and locked away for her own safety. She could only communicate with letters as she wasn't allowed to see anyone, her servant and guard being the only close communication through a door. She resented her father for locking her away, moreso once she learned of his death. Only when Ryland took over did he allow her to leave, but he still urged caution, and the tower became her chambers for fear that he would repeat their father's actions. He informed her that she would be wed into House Caswell to gain an ally, and encouraged her to pamper herself to make her more appealing. It was during this time that he stressed the importance of having allies and making connections, as the Tyrell name could only carry them so far. The plague was finally looking to be over, to everyone's relief. Because of this, it shocked everyone once he came down with the sickness, and the entire family was rattled once he and his son passed. The last victims of the plague, and such precious ones, nonetheless. Lynett enlisted Rosalynn to travel to King's Landing to bring back her second eldest brother, Steffon, to take over as the Lord of Highgarden. It was clear to Rosalynn that her mother hadn't the slightest idea what to do without a lord, and sincerely doubted that Steffon would return with her, but she obeyed her mother nonetheless. She is extremely sociable and loves to listen to stories, having an excellent memory. She puts a lot of pride in her appearance in both how she sees herself and how others perceive her, and seldom does anything that would reflect poorly on her. Processing an impeccable talent in coming off as vulnerable when needed, most older folk are a little wary of her--it is clear Sofia is smarter than she comes off as. Had she the option, she would have very much liked to follow in his footsteps as a warrior. One particular instance was a bout of mischievousness where she tried to take Steffon's sword out of its hilt to show her father. But as she was born a woman, she was encouraged to be more like her mother. Except said mother was hardly someone she found herself admiring. Leo Tyrell was well known through the land, but her mother left much to be desired. Sure, she was lovely, but she came off as weak to Sofia. Lynett shied away from political problems, and while her gossiping lead to a treasure trove of information, she scarcely did anything with it. Sofia found herself with ambition to do more, to be of more use to her family. She would decide to study people, study their relationships, their approaches, how they reacted to her; it was almost an obsession of hers that she needed to know how to best approach someone. As a second daughter, she was aware that if she didn't stand out, she was likely to be shipped off to some lower house to please one of their lords. But she wanted a life with either the same luxuries she enjoyed--or, perhaps, something more. Of course, the plague put these thoughts aside. The loss of Leo devastated her for some time, though she swore to herself to help Ryland with anything and everything. While she never got to make her father proud, she would do everything she could to assist Ryland. The two would be slightly at odds, but once she proved herself useful by showing him the best ways to communicate the lords, their relationship improved. Unfortunately, Ryland passed as well. Her older sister was to be the Lady of House Tyrell. Sofia was uncertain at this news, as she assumed Rosalynn couldn't handle it. Still, once their mother asked Rosalynn to fetch Steffon from the Red Keep, Sofia saw an opportunity and invited herself along for the trip. After all, you never know who could be waiting in King's Landing...
