Character Name: Amalasuntha, the Black-Hawk Rank/Role: Venatari Custodes Appearance: Amalasuntha would fit any amongst the custodes, tall and the pinnacle of physical physique but she is as lithe as a hunter on the Himalayan mountainside. Her skin is rough and calloused of years of exposure to the cruel elements and the vast gene-modification and training that those of the Custodes must go through. Her wings have been painted black to mark her shadows amongst the skies, so that those may feel their final fear knowing that one of the Emperor’s chosen has come to slay them. Her head, shaved clean save for a single taut ponytail that would be a clear refinement of her head, though the most notable would be the mask that belongs to another faction within the Imperium - which covers her mouth to nose. While she is not amongst such a role, it is a more personal item that she carries on her person. Biography: Amalasuntha’s past, whatever of it that has not been completely wiped clean of her time being amongst the vaunted Custodes, was clearly bonded with that of a psychic blank that served as a test for the Emperor, her true sister. No amount of hypno-therapy had been able to break such a bond, her will had been unshakable. However, whatever that sister's name Amalasuntha had never known, given the two were raised in quite different environments, all that was left was the great feeling whenever the two worked in concert. Amongst the heights of the Himalayan Mountains, as the Emperor’s own bodyguard, there was little time for the two to truly understand and get to know each other - nor for any true conversation to occur. Yet, with any chance for performing an operation with her sister, she would always force herself to work alongside them and hunt the psykers that plagued Terra. With Amalasuntha’s one focus being the service and protection of the Emperor, she could not afford such distraction. And yet, she could not say why it was that she felt such anger and hatred when it was her bonded sister that had been felled in battle, felled by a shot from one of the barbarous ‘Thunder Warriors’ that her lord employed whilst securing their first foothold. It was then that she had slaughtered the Warrior, killing him savagely and swiftly as if the Thunder Warrior had threatened to kill the Emperor himself. Amongst her shield-kindred, it was known that her aggression and ferocity had grown and her goal had been shifted to keep a distant eye upon those warriors so that they might know what happens if they were to be given into their degradations. It is Amalasuntha who served as a great judge of how the Warriors conduct themselves, inspiring fear and awe amongst their ranks. For this reason, she had been given the armor Venatari, so that she might cast an infernal shadow amongst the battlefields of Thunder Warriors, marking any who might stray from their path for an early demise. Amongst these prospects she has been effective in determining the quality of them, becoming a hawk with her mice.
