He was fond of Annie. He pushed that away. These were not their friends. Quicksilver was evil here. The others were too. He had to accept that and quickly. But for now, he could focus on Quicksilver. That was at least something he had already done. It was even a little cathartic. Ed tried to throw a bubble shield around Quicksilver, stopping him from running around like the little maniac he was. Unfortunately, he was just a bit too fast for him. Fine, he thought. Time to use his speed against him. Ed threw up several force field walls in Quicksilver's general path. It semi-worked. While Ed had been hoping Quicksilver wouldn't have been able to stop in time and would have ended up like something out of a cartoon. Instead, the guy was able to stop. It did come with the bonus that now he had stopped moving. Maybe Mary could tie him up with some plants. As he thought that, Ed realized they were in the best place possible for Mary to fight. These people were a distraction from their goal. But there were different people here. When they had met the group claiming to be from a different universe, they had had a version of him with them. He wasn't here. There were two reasons for that. "They have a larger group. I don't see the two others that were with Nightlocke's counterpart among these." How many did they have in their group? The trio they had met had been vague on the details. Had they known about the crystal originally and been keeping that close to the chest? Mage prepared to create a shield, a familiar movement to the group as he reached into a pocket to touch his shield medallion.
