As Franklin finishes reading his note, as Darren is looking around for the one close by, the one he senses looking at him, as Jane watched the "crazy man shouting," more than the night descended on the town. A fog begins to settle across the whole of Silent Hill. It's a light mist at first. But then it begins to thicken. A few clouds of fog here and there--patchy as it were. Then a light river of fog filling the streets. And finally a thick mist, a mist so heavy that one could only see about 10 feet or so in front of them. Between the darkness coming down, and the thickening fog, it was nigh impossible to even see the buildings across the street clearly; the skyline of Silent Hill choked and unseen jutting in the night.
