I'm just trying to decide between the following:

Driskoll, changeling with an affinity for magic and less affinity for fine motor movement. Obsessed with revenge on the man he thinks is his father but knows he has to be stronger or have loyal followers/'friends'/acquaintances to exact such revenge.
Morgan, human who treats everything as a performance including day-to-day life. Is trying to get a better understanding of things like 'empathy' and 'morality' by traveling with others, but has at least internalized that you don't let companions get enslaved or killed.
Nora, elf who was raised with the belief that she was to fulfill a great prophecy. Then some other adventurer who probably wasn't even aware of the prophecy fulfilled it, leaving her village with the awkward question of what to do with her. She eventually got fed up with them and left.
Jay, human or birdfolk who staggered back from the Frontier a while ago with only the clothes on his back, a book written in cipher, and no memory of what happened to him. Now that he's recovered, he wants to know what happened to him and what makes this book so important to him.
All of these are just shorthand (and Jay's backstory, I'm willing to PM just to prove I DO have an actual backstory there), and probably contingent on who else joins, but if any of these are hard no's, then obviously I won't use them. (And if all of them are hard no's, I'll just need to go through my archives and keep trying.)
