The world was a messy place and dangerous to live in. Some of the races of the world came together and decided something needed to be done. It is said a group of noble hunters stepped up to seal away the demon lord, Ulgoran, who was believed to be the source of all these monsters. This demon lord had held his seat of power for well over a century before being bested by the hunters, who sealed his power and body away in a long-forgotten tomb in a place they refused to tell anyone. History talks of how the hunters then went their separate ways, and soon the land began to heal and prosper without the threat of monsters looming around every corner. 

Several centuries later, however, the monster epidemic seems to once more be on the rise. For over 50 years now, the small country of Athia has seen more monster activity than ever before. Prompted by [url=https://i.pinimg.com/564x/06/0e/21/060e21812680b7dc11bdfba724c2f81b.jpg]Queen Maeve of Athia[/url], the city council of Abona decided to put out the call for experienced adventurers far and wide to enter their borders and help solve this growing issue. The Captain of the Guard, [url=https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/976201922409267210/1046247948071219200/unknown.png]Theodoric Von Duvan[/url], has managed to track what he can only assume is the source of this growing infestation to a cave in the mountains, where a powerful presence seems to reside. 

Those who answer the call are promised land and wealth for them and their next of kin, should they succeed. But as simple as the objective sounds, there seems to be something that people are not letting on about. Rumors of monster-sympathizers run the streets. Cults have begun to form, prophesying the return of Ulgoran. The people's trust in one another has begun to falter as there have been tales of people turning into these creatures and turning on their countrymen. Many have gone missing in the night, never to be heard from again or their bodies turn up devoid of blood. Where does the truth lie in this strange neck of the woods? Does our telltale group of ragabonds, misfits, and prodigies have the skill and prowess to tackle the issues laid before them? Or will the forces of evil prove to be too strong for mankind once again? What if things aren’t all that they seem?[/center]
