Leo did have a point, hope could create quite the cage for people if wielded right. A lot of people didn’t realize what kind of weapon hope could be. It was Leo’s next words that really caught Mina’s attention as he divulged more into what happened last night. He was right, Sorian certainly did feel less stable, but it was the statement of all the nobles having lost their memories of the night that she latched onto. That was very bizarre and part of Mina was still glad she hadn’t gone, but the other side of her was incredibly disappointed she’d missed it. Perhaps she could have gotten some answers to some questions. Perhaps she would pay the two youngest Danrose siblings a visit.

The charges against Nesworth were read and then they allowed him some final words, something that caused her to have a bad feeling. His words were chilling and something that certainly made him sound absolutely mad. Something was wrong, something was very wrong. He spoke of “the power” and she could have sworn he locked eyes with her for a moment, but then wondered if this was merely in her head. Why was she suddenly feeling dizzy? One hand went to her head and the other reached out, gently touching Leo’s arm as the wind picked up some. When she finally opened her eyes again, the pyre was ablaze and the guard practically dove off the platform to roll around and put out his pants. She’d only watched for a moment before locking eyes with the burning man and if she hadn’t been looking so closely she would have missed the flash of the red glow in his eyes. It was gone as quickly as it had appeared. No…was he…as she stared at the laughing man, she almost jumped when she saw him step out of the flames, still staring at her. No one else seemed to notice this, however, and slowly Mina began to realize what was happening. Suddenly, the vision of Cameron Nesworth was directly in front of her and she couldn’t keep from stumbling back some. It was in her head, it was all in her head, this wasn’t real. To Leo and anyone else nearby, they would have simply seen Mina turn pale, stumble backwards, before fainting.
