All across the world, people were scurrying about their day, putting on the final touches, in preparation for the morrow's festivities. For tomorrow was Armistice Day, a day of peace and joy, as well as sadness and grief. Fighting in the Bloody Divide would come to a rest, and both sides would return home to celebrate their victories and morn their losses. They, the soldiers who had made it through another grueling year, would be welcomed as heroes, greeted by thunderous applause.
The morning was young in the city of Stallo. The last of the Sutisu natives were headed to the airports, back to their home lands. By the end of the day, the city, normally alive and bustling, would feel more akin to a ghost town. After all, most of the people in Stallo were either visitors from Sutisu, or ex-Sutisu citizens that had moved here in the past. All that would be left, would be the Mutrenu natives, the robot servants, and the Loyal Tails beastfolk. Once all the Sutisu people were gone, they too would have a party, just to celebrate having their annoying guests out of their hair. They would drink and be merry, and if anyone asked, it was because of Armistice Day. Yeah right...

Leemo City wasn't quite ready to celebrate just yet. It was almost noon, and while the fighting was supposed to be coming to a halt, a last second assault by the Riotifu army was never out of the question. They had been known for trying some devious maneuvers on Armistice's Eve. As soldiers and drones returned from the battlefield, they were being carefully searched. In the past, Riotifu had stuck them with spyware or latent explosives. They wouldn't let that happen this year, no unexpected explosions and no espionage. Only after rigorous debriefing, would the soldiers then be sent home to see their families and have their day in the sun, some only to turn around and return to the battlefield on New Years Day.

It was early in the afternoon and the Tempum City festivities were already in full bloom. Even the officers of the law, who were normally very strict any other time of the year, were drinking and being merry. After all, they have brothers and sisters, just like anyone else, and those brothers and sisters were on their way home. In a few short hours, the sun would be setting, the soldiers would be returning, and the real party would begin. The next thirty hours would be filled with booze on the streets and all kinds of wild behavior that normally wouldn't be tolerated in this city. In fact, some of the craziest people on the streets would be the peace keepers themselves, shooting their blasters high into the night sky, accompanying the fireworks. Sure, one or two... hundred people would be dead by the end of the celebrations, but that was nothing compared to how wild things got in some other cities.
