Over the Papas Academy uniform, which she wears a sleeveless version of, she drapes a long coat, mostly colored white interspersed with the colored lines of a rainbow that start at the waist and spread out across and around it, with the red tracing up around the collar, the violet tracing down around the bottom edges, and the yellow tracing up to the shoulders then down to the cuffs, with every other color in between wrapping around the white coat. 

Starting at the low thigh, a pair of horizontally-striped rainbow-pattern stockings take up the task of covering her legs from the uniform's brown shorts, leaving a section of thigh exposed; the right leg's stocking starts at red while the left leg's stocking starts at green.

With an almost comically expressive face and body, and her trusty holographic instrument deck, she is always ready to let everyone around her know exactly how she feels. Boisterous and enthusiastic, Nina is never one to shy away from anything, be they new experiences, challenges, or the gaze of every person in her vicinity. 

Which isn't to say she's a doer, not a thinker. Holographic instrument tech takes knowhow to maintenance, and being able to play multiple holographic instruments at once is mentally strenuous, even considering the deck is linked to her thought patterns. Whether it's technological wizardry or the history and culture of the world she now lives in, Nina approaches every subject with all her attention, and is always prepared to give just as much attention to the people and Pokemon around her. After all, it's easy to be a good listener when you technically have nothing to say.

She would frequently practice in the forest near her home town, having grown to enjoy the looks on her parents' faces when she would demonstrate sudden improvements in skill that they hadn't been privy to her practicing of. Many of the forest's Pokemon would be drawn to her melodies and performances, and she found that as her understanding of music deepened, so too did her understanding of Pokemon, and as her relationships with Pokemon improved, so too did her health. It was with these qualities that she had captured the attention of a reclusive Meloetta living in that forest, and was able to befriend it. Yet, years later when she set out on her journey as a Pokemon Trainer, she proved unable to convince the Meloetta to be her first Pokemon partner, believing itself to be far above being commanded by a fledgling trainer (and also believing that lending Nina its power so early in her journey would make it a less rewarding experience and spoil her). Even so, the Meloetta did decide to travel with Nina, finding enjoyment in her performances and unique methods of interacting with Pokemon.

Over the years, her journey has taken her from her home in Unova, all the way to Alola, then Kanto, followed by Kalos, continuing to improve her artistic skills throughout. It was during these travels that she obtained and learned to operate her holographic instrument deck, turning her into a literal one-woman band. Meanwhile her ever developing dance skills culminated in a body that could keep up with Pokemon physically, as her lack of a voice meant she needed to command her partners through alternate means, and musical cues would sometimes prove too restrictive in the heat of battle. 

Her journey has now brought her to Paldea. Though an experienced trainer with plenty of Pokemon raised, battles won, and friends made, she'd never actually been to a formal school due to her health issues in her youth. Thus, she applied to become a student at Papas Academy, hoping that through the education offered by its respected teaching staff and the opportunity for growth and exploration offered by the famous Treasure Hunt, she might finally find a way to become the trainer Meloetta expects her to be and have it join her team.

Nowadays he is almost never seen without his signature look of superiority on his face, preening his whiskers in preparation to show off at a moment's notice. Thankfully, that confidence extends to his trainer, who's musical direction he will follow without question, as it has been for all these years. Is sometimes on the receiving end of flirting from Nina's Oricorio, which he cooly brushes off. He prefers more serene melodies over heavy beats and rhythms, though classical pieces with bombast are a guilty pleasure he occasionally partakes in. He can play the flute.

Effort which can be quickly forgotten about in the presence of an appealing suitor, at which point this Oricorio's attention will be fully dedicated to confidently flirting with her latest piece of eye candy. She prefers music with strong melodies or rhythms that befit an elegant dancing style, while finding music that goes all in on emphasizing beats or frequently changes up the flow of the song to be off-putting. She does not play any instruments, but she does boast a lovely singing voice.

She prefers music that has a strong energy, be it classical, metal, or any genre in between, to really get the blood pumping, but doesn't like music with overwhelming bass. As a Meloetta, it does have a naturally wonderful singing voice, and it can also play guitar quite well (though most of them are too big for her, restricting her to using a ukulele.
