She had spent the last few days in London with an assistant, relaxing, acclimating, and buying supplies. But they'd set out late last night for Scotland in a car, carrying several bags and boxes of the young witch's belongings. She slept somewhat badly through the drive. It was uncomfortable, and the sounds of the rain and the road disturbed her. But when they arrived in the morning, she was quite lucid. Probably the excitement was keeping her focused. She had come very far from home - halfway across the world in fact - in pursuit of a mystery. The spirit that haunted her, the one she called 'the prince', had appeared to her many times in London, urging her onwards. He was the one who had pointed her to Hawthorne. Ever since she arrived, however, he was nowhere to be seen. It was curious, but without his distractions, Hannah was able to keep her head during the induction ceremony. After seeing her luggage shepherded away by the school's faculty, she made her way to the assembly hall. It was raining like the dickens outside, but she managed to avoid the worst of it with her umbrella. She shook it out near the entryway and deposited it there, before finding a place among the other students. She didn't know a soul here. There were many eccentric looking characters around - not least of which were the teachers. It was a bit overwhelming. But Hannah's practiced composure did not falter. She remained calm and offered a slight smile to those who met her gaze. She was wearing a fairly practical outfit today - a grey sweater and dark, form-fitting pants. She had styled her long black hair simply, keeping it behind her with a matching ribbon. Her natural beauty was still apparent though, and the gleaming silver of her earrings was a small indication of prestige. Hannah listened politely to the commencement speech, but she gradually began to pick up on the strange atmosphere in the air. There were serious-looking people scattered about the hall in leather uniforms. She knew them to be seekers; their appearance usually signaled trouble. Furthermore, the headmaster even felt the need to address the rumored incidents she had been reading about in the papers. She hadn't been worried much about it before, but admittedly the man's assurance that she'd be safe made her feel anything but. The assembly ended without incident, and the students made their way outside to check the dorm listings. Hannah followed along, but slowly, taking the time to observe her new classmates, and seeing if any of them looked approachable.
