That was until he was chosen by a being known as Nova Prime to be his replacement, the alien was dying in Earth Orbit. A criminal had escaped captivity slaughtering hundreds of Nova Centurions, Richard Rider was chosen out of the entire off Earth to face off against this threat. Should anyone look through old News Footage from the early 2000s there are reports of a 'human rocket' operating out of Hampstead in New York. The career was short-lived until Richard Rider discovered that he was just one of many Nova Centurions that traversed the universe as an intergalactic peacekeeping organization. The years of struggle, war, and turmoil took a toll on young Richard who requested that he be allowed to return to live his life back on Earth with his friends. The Worldmind agreed but informed him he would have to leave his life as a Nova behind. Stripping him of his power and sending him back to work. The years of absence had not been kind to young Richard Rider. Many of his friends had left Hempstead behind, gone out and sought jobs, or went to University. Richard bounced from job to job, going out of his way in his free time to chase the adrenaline high he missed from being a Nova Centurion. His life as the Human Rocket had seemingly come to an end. During the Chitauri Invasion, he was singled out by the invading aliens who sought out the latent NovaForce still within him, thinking him to be an active Centurion. The Irony is that in attempting to kill him they re-activated the latent energies within him, reconnecting him to the Worldmind and Earths Nova was reborn. He spent a very short period of time on Earth post-invasion, however soon he became troubled as it appeared more and more Nova Centurions were being targetted and killed. The concerning part was that their helmets were never recovered, and the NovaForce within them never seemed to return to the collective fold. I always wanted to go Cosmic in one of these games, and I've always enjoyed the idea of Nova and the Nova Corps. My idea for Nova is simple he's going to be flying around the cosmos trying to figure out who is capable of wiping out Nova Centurions one by one, but all the while he is having to pick up more and more work as the numbers of Centurions slowly dwindles down. In the years since Earth was invaded by the Chitauri their numbers have dwindled significantly, and at an increased rate. Seemingly whatever is killing them off is becoming more and more proficient at it. I know that by being cosmic I'm somewhat isolating myself, however, there are a couple of Earth Bound heroes who can always spread their wings, or alternatively, I'm always happy for Nova to make an appearance back on Earth. It acts as the guardian for the Novaforce as well as the controlling body for the Nova Corps. All Novas have an active connection to the Worldmind at any time, and it is able to communicate and relay information to them while also being able to help them while they work in the field. Cosmo: Cosmo is a Russian Astronaut dog, and the security chief of the space station (and former celestial head), Knowhere. He is a close friend of Richard, and a cunning ally. Peter Quill: Peter Quill is a member of the Ravagers a group of space pirates. Peter and Richard have come to blows occasionally but are more often than naught friends, they remind each other of a home they both left behind for different reasons. Peter has a good heart, Richard just wishes he'd follow it. Thanos: Thanos has been a continuous thorn in Richards side. As if he didn't have enough to worry about with the Shi'ar, Kree and Skrulls. Thanos seems insistent to go around the Galaxy getting as large a kill count as possible. He is currently held in The Kyln Warlord Kraa: Hates the Nova Corps for the death of his brother (even though his brother decimated Xandar first). He was last seen fleeing from Richard Rider after a battle on Earths Moon. I'm sure there will be more allies, enemies and neutral parties as time goes on.

[SUP][SUB]
S A M P L E P O S T:
[/SUB][/SUP]

22,314 // LAMENTIS 1 // EDGE OF KREE SPACE Caution would be advised Richard Rider Richard scoffed audibly in his helmet as he rolled past a piece of smaller debris. He could ignore the smaller chunks of planet, they weren't going to cause too much damage even if they failed to burn up in the atmosphere. He looked all around him, whatever cataclysm had destroyed the planet had shattered it completely. Some pieces drifted harmlessly in the opposite direction of the inhabited moon below him, but not enough. Even should you succeed in saving the moon, Richard Rider, resulting stresses due to the loss of the planet will render it uninhabitable within thirty rotations. Rider strained as he raised his arms and fired a concentrated blast of energy at a nearby chunk of planetoid, gritting his teeth as he poured everything he had into it it finally blasted into tiny thousands of little fragments. His visor advised that they would be small enough that they'd merely burn up in the upper atmosphere. "Thirty rotations are still more than these people will get if I don't succeed. Status on the evacuation ships I've requested?" Due to the strain on resources, the best I can promise is that Nova Samaya will arrive within thirty one rota- "Not good enough." Well most everyone else in the Corps is either deployed to try and prevent the various star empires from wiping everyone out or investigating the threat that is targetting centurions. Richard winced as he, distracted, collided with a slab of stone. He pushed himself off it, following through with a blast for good measure. "You didn't take me back because I'm like every other Nova out there. You took me back because I'm not. There was no response from Worldmind. That meant he was right. In all honesty, the fact that someone was hunting down Novas scared the living daylights out of him, more so with the fact that it was a someone and that they didn't even know who it was. It took a lot of skill to get one over on a sentient computer with thousands of years of history and experience to work from. Looking directly up from the horizon line he shook himself back into the moment. The people of Lamentis-1 were counting on him, and Novas always step up. As a large section of the planet was coming towards him with frightening speed he near screamed as he raised both his hands towards it, the glow around him grew as he poured a concentrated energy beam into the piece of the planet. It split and cracked into various sizes, he zipped through space like a streak of light, occasionally he'd cast out a blast of energy to destroy a section and at other times he'd be close enough that he'd physically strike it to break it apart. From the planet it looked like the most uncoordinated light show, and in space Richard felt like it was the most uncoordinated light show. Even with the Worldmind plotting and sending data to his visor it was all becoming too much for him to handle. Tremors rocked the ground below as more and more large chunks were getting passed him. It was times like this he wished that Graviton hadn't turned out to be a bad guy, if Richard could have had access to him right now this would already be over. Or if there were enough Novas to go around. When he had first become a Nova Centurion, border incidents were virtually non-existent as the Corps could do a show of force instantly. These days it took all the man-power they had, which left crises' like these unattended. If it wasn't for Richard. Incoming vessel. The visor highlighted a ship, a Nova Corps Starcruiser, not just any. Richard recognized the markings on it, it had been the ship belonging to Rhomman Dey. The Nova who had entrusted Richard with his powers. "I thought you said there wasn't any help coming." Richard did an inverted loop over a piece of the planet, blasting it as he leveled himself back off. Meanwhile weapon systems all over the ship came to life blasting various chunks. There is not, however as Rhomman Deys successor you have access to his vessel whenever you need it. While you did not make a direct request, it was implied. "So you're telling me I could have asked for the ship anytime since joining the corps?" Correct. Well, that was good to know. "How many living inhabitants are still left on the moon?" Approximately twenty-five thousand.

[SUP][SUB]
P O S T C A T A L O G:
[/SUB][/SUP]

No posts yet
