She takes nothing personally and brushes off any insult, attitude or even physical attack with a cheery smile and a kind word. This makes it extremely easy for her to integrate into almost any team and form a rapport with all but the most belligerent and hostile of people. An important tool when you’re in charge of making sure everyone is at their tip top physical health. This of course leads to her forgiving things that she shouldn’t and brushing off things that many other people wouldn’t, but in her mind the benefits of being perhaps the one person that can be relied upon to be in someone’s corner no matter what far outweigh the risks of her being harmed. Besides, she’s survived worse. Steady Kallie is cool under pressure. It doesn’t matter if she’s merely bandaging someone’s scratch in the safety of a medbay or if she’s saving someone’s life in a delicate procedure while being shelled by artillery in subpar cover, she’ll maintain her same cheery and calm demeanor no matter what. It does wonders for a patient’s demeanor if their doctor is completely unphased by whatever wound they may have sustained and is pleasantly chattering on about how ‘we’ll have this under control soon’ and ‘this reminds me of another injury my daughter got into while…’. Kallie’s consistently calm demeanor is an extremely valuable asset both in her own job where tension and stress can be high and in the work that Exogeni will be requiring of the team that can be equally as stressful and tense. Motherly Being unable to have her own children, Kallie has a tendency to mother others that are younger than her. Which, at her age, means practically everyone. She’ll offer food, medicine, check in from time to time, make recommendations and generally fuss over people. Even after they’ve left her medical care. Whether or not someone wants to be mothered like this seems to be of no concern to her. She’ll always be ready with a small gift of food, comfort, or a small handmade item. Sometimes these will be given without permission. It’s been a stalwart companion for the centuries that followed, needing parts replaced relatively infrequently and reliably firing even after significant use as a blunt force trauma weapon and years of disuse. This particular Striker has a symbol on the stock that has been sanded off and since drawn over with what looks like the scrawling of children. Graal Spike Thrower Another popular weapon in the DMZ, Kallie picked it up off of a dead krogan in the wastes of Tuchanka who had evidently failed in his attempt to hunt a Thresher Maw. There was nothing she could salvage from the acid melted remains, but the Spike Thrower remained in functional condition. She’s kept with the line of weapons ever since. This particular weapon has a heart crudely drawn on the side of it. Sirta Foundation Biotic Amp and Medical VI With the Sirta Foundation being both a medical non-profit and fairly affordable, Kallie prefers to do most of her business with them in general. This extends to both of their biotic amps, which are powerful enough to suit Kallie’s limited biotic skills, and their medical VI’s which Kallie finds invaluable for both analyzing injuries and lining up recommended treatments. She can’t carry a full medical suite onto the battlefield, but the Sirta Foundation VI in her helmet can perform the same job well enough to at least stabilize her patients until she can get to proper equipment. In terms of combat it’s extremely valuable in alerting her to injuries that her opponents have sustained that she can then exploit. [/SUP]

[SUB]R E C O R D[/sub] [sup]Omega Refinery Explosion of 2133 ”The event that put me on the map, so to speak! Hundreds of people owed their lives to her tireless efforts and competent medical service. The gangs around Omega have since regularly gone to Kallie’s clinic as a neutral medical service that they can trust to treat them as best she’s able and a location won’t be targeted by rivals. Defense of Parasc ”This wasn’t anything, really. I just couldn’t bear the thought of those sweet vorcha children being beaten into animals, and just let my motherly instincts take over! They never stood a chance and all of those children lived long, for Vorcha, and productive lives.” During her mercenary days, Kallie aided in repelling a Blood Pack assault on the asari mining colony of Parasc, personally being responsible for not only several of her squad’s survival but also ensuring that none of the non-violent vorcha children were taken away by the Blood Pack. The children had been taken onto a Corvette that was preparing to flee as Kallie and her unit defended the colony. Reports indicate that Kallie boarded the vessel as it was beginning to lift off, killed every Blood Pack member aboard, and protected all of the children with her biotics in the subsequent crash. No reported vorcha children casualties. Surgery of Negotiator Kelce Mathews ”Aside from her temper, which I can’t really blame her for given the pain she must have been in during surgery and recovery, Ms. Mathews is a delightful young woman. I can see why you made her a negotiator, she has a sharp wit and a natural charisma that is hard to come by these days. Her surgery wasn’t all that unusual from my day to day in Omega, maybe a little more pressed for time due to the quality of toxin used, but other than that not too bad!” While negotiating with a local mercenary group on behalf of ExoGeni for materials that they had acquired (See incident report Omega #23992), Ms Mathews angered their captain. She drew a pistol, upon which Ms. Mathews’s security detail brought out their own weapons. In the ensuing firefight, Ms. Mathews was gravely injured and most of her detail had been killed. She was dragged to Kallie’s clinic by both friendly locals and her remaining security. Kallie immediately took control of the situation, taking Ms. Mathews to an operating room and placing her own guards outside the clinic to keep an eye out for Ms. Mathews’s assailants. Kallie was able to skillfully remove the bullet fragments in Ms. Mathews’s body, slow down and eventually stop the poisoning she had received from the toxin rounds the mercenaries had used, and stitch her back together in such a way that only a small scar remains. Upon the stabilizing of her patient, Kallie went outside of her clinic to deal with the mercenaries that had followed. Reports indicate that Kallie was able to calm down the mercenaries and convince them to leave, particularly after locals around the clinic (apparently out of concern for and loyalty to Kallie) began to arm themselves and surround the group. After making a recovery , Ms. Mathews recommended looking into Kallie as a contractor for future ExoGeni endeavors. The Janica was an asari military frigate that was patrolling Sigurd’s Cradle after reports of increased pirate activity around asari interests. While on patrol, the vessel was ambushed by Korva and her own frigate Kor’sha Arakan (Translation from the krogan language: Mother’s Wrath). The Janica’s guns and shields were disabled in the surprise attack, and then Korva and her crew boarded the vessel. In the bloodbath that followed there was only one survivor who made it to the escape pods, barely escaping as Korva chased after her. The Janica was found by the asari military’s recovery teams to be a horror show of gruesome displays, and was rigged to explode. This event marked the start of Korva’s ‘war’ and the asari government’s attention was brought to her. When she’s not at the orphanage she’s a solid information broker who keeps an ear to Omega to keep abreast of any rumblings. Normally it was so Kallie would be alerted before hand if she was about to see more work at her clinic, or opportunities to take care of, since Vasiana would become aware of one or more of the gangs getting ready for a fight, now it keeps Kallie updated on the situation of Omega as a whole and helps keep the orphanage safe. Many of them she can tell you what they were doing last she checked in. She also has pictures of all of them on her omni-tool. -Kallie is capable of singing. She is awful, but enthusiastic. Her body is covered in what the trained eye would immediately notice as surgical scars, following both her primary and secondary nervous systems. Her bright amber eyes have smile wrinkles around them and her teeth are usually visible in a friendly grin. In general, Kallie’s entire demeanor is welcoming and as non-threatening as a krogan can be. In combat she wears the heavy Onyx Armor of Aldrin labs. Her normal attire is what can only be described as ‘grandmotherly’ and ‘easily cleanable’ with everything striking a balance between warm, comfortable, and something that won’t be ruined if blood or other fluids get on it.
Personal History ◢

”Oh, you want to know about my history? Sure! It won’t be a problem at all dearie! Now, where to begin…I suppose the very start of everything would be best? I doubt you have any records before I was an official mercenary, so I suppose we’ll start on Tuchanka! I was born to Clan Ravvor, in what is now Clan Gatatog territory. It was a small clan, the males and females both settling into fortresses in the local mountain range to protect us from the environment and other clans. “We weren’t known for any particular thing, nor were we big enough to be major players in global politics, so almost no one outside of our little part of Tuchanka knew of us. Still, it was a good life. As good as any life on Tuchanka can be. I won’t bore you with the details of my existence, but suffice to say for the first 29 years of my life I was bound and determined to take the Genophage head on and birth the sons and daughters that would shape the fate of Clan Ravvor and Tuchanka itself! “By year thirty I had been broken of and disillusioned with that notion. I had watched hundreds of thousands of my children die as soon as they hatched from their shells. Of those few that did survive birth, half of them were already dead from fighting. Whether it was fighting the environment of Tuchanka itself, such as during our Rite of Passage, or fighting other clans that were pressing on our borders.” (Note: As Kallie has explained it, Clan Ravvor’s Rite of Passage for was a week long trial where the krogan is taken out into the wilderness of the mountain range and left to survive on their own until the shaman returned to either find their corpse or take them back to the clan as a fully recognized adult.) ”I was tired. Tired of fighting a seemingly unwinnable fight. Tired of scratching out a living on a planet that hated us for what we had done to it. Tired of watching most of my children die before they even had a chance at life, and tired of watching the rest throw their lives away in a series of meaningless struggles that ultimately changed nothing. I was simply ready for it all to end. Among the clans (at least the clans I had contact with so Raik, Gatatog, Jorgal, Ravvor, Shath, Quash, and Strogjaw) there is a term for females like that. Korvan Tru’sha. Despairing Ones. Those that have given up all hope, all desire to live, and all will fight. They are allowed to walk into the wastes of Tuchanka and let the environment take them. “It is less of a burden on the clan to let them walk and hope the one to take her place is stronger than it is to waste resources and energy trying to keep someone alive who would rather be dead. So I was allowed to leave. The clan performed a Rite of Farewell, those that could forgive me for my weakness, and I began to head into the wilderness to meet my fate. I hadn’t gotten farther than an hour into my journey when I heard the unmistakable sound of gunfire and explosions. I immediately turned around and ran back. I no longer cared for my life, but I did care for the lives of my clan.” Here she laughs, ruefully. ”I’m not sure what I thought I was going to do to be honest with you dearie. I had no weapons, no armor, and this was before I had gotten my biotic abilities. “But nonetheless, I ran as fast as I could. But by the time I got back to the fortress I was too late. Everyone was dead. They had all put up a good fight, a fight worthy of songs and memories, and taken many of their attackers with them. It wasn’t enough. They were slain, the fortress destroyed. With their deaths so too died clan Ravvor. Without us, the males would simply die out in a blaze of suicidal glory. They would attack the clan that had done this, clan Gatatog, with all their might and they would be slain in the attempt to avenge the females. Or perhaps they were already dead by that point in time. I did not know. All I knew was that I felt the same way. Grief stricken, filled with a burning desire for vengeance, and not caring if I survived the attempt. I turned towards the direction of clan Jorgal. They were the oldest clan in the area, with the most krogan who remembered the old ways. “More importantly, I had heard they had a krogan who remembered how we used to give biotics to our soldiers before the Genophage. I had also heard that it killed most who underwent the procedure, but I didn’t care about that. I wanted either the power to avenge my fallen sisters or the sweet release of the Void, and that operation was going to give me one or the other. I picked up a Striker from one of the fallen attackers, and I started walking. “Again, I won’t bore you with the details but suffice to say that it took all of my natural krogan resilience and skill to survive the journey. I hid from a thresher maw, killed many varren, scrounged, scavenged, and scraped by. The only thing that kept me going was the desire to make the Gatatog clan leader, Gatatog Rak, pay. I had narrowed my need for revenge. The journey had given me time to think and realize that I wouldn’t be able to make everyone in clan Gatatog pay, but I would be able to make everyone in clan Gatatog feel my vengeance. I arrived at the male camp of clan Jorgal and demanded an audience with the doctor who knew how to do the operation, Jorgal Uvrak. “Being both a female and a Korvan Tru’sha, as evidenced by the markings on my hide that I had yet to wipe off, they allowed me to see him. At first he was hesitant, eezo being expensive to replace and not wanting to kill a female. But after I shoved into his hands all the credits I had scrounged from the various hidden caches that the Gatatog attackers hadn’t found and reassured him that I was as good as already dead as a Korvan Tru’sha, he acquiesced. I’m sure I gave him more than enough credits to replace the amount of eezo he would be using, but I didn’t care. I just needed the operation done. “It is easily the most physically agonizing experience I have ever felt, and I’ve survived a fiery crash in an escape pod! He didn’t have any way to put me under, so I was forced to endure and feel every cut and insertion for what seemed like days. How I didn’t snap and lose my mind right then and there I’ll never know. Perhaps I did, and just don’t know it!” She gives a cackle and grins, before settling back down. ”I survived, obviously, but was bedridden following the ordeal. I drifted in and out of consciousness for what felt like months but was only a few days. Krogan biology at getting us back on our feet. I didn’t waste any time once I was able to move, I just grabbed my weapons and left the camp and headed towards Gatatog territory. It didn’t take long for me to figure out how to do a simple charge with my abilities, though it was more of a way to move rapidly forward than anything with actual impact. “The actual process of getting into their territory was easier than you’d think. Krogan clans are constantly on the lookout for large groups that would signal a raid or an invasion. They don’t have the resources to maintain a fully watched and guarded border, capable of stopping a single krogan from slipping into their territory. So I found their camp and I waited. “Rak was known to lead frequent raids himself into other clans territories. Clan Gatatog was feuding with Clan Jorgal at that time, so I was able to get a description from Jorgal warriors before I left. He was very distinctive with his dark green armor and his bright red warhammer that he favored. His tomkah was always the one in the lead and it was a dark red. It was simply a matter of waiting for him to come out on his next raid, and then hitting him fast and hard as soon as he came out of his tomkah. “I didn’t have to wait long. A couple of days after I arrived he and one other tomkah rolled out of the camp and headed towards Jorgal territory. I was able to keep up due to having a headstart. Of course, it helped that the terrain forced them to take the roundabout way while I could move in a straight line. A few hours into this, I got lucky. Rak stopped his tomkah and then left it, heading behind a rockpile to relieve himself. “I didn’t let the opportunity slip between my fingers. I made a straight beeline towards him, and then charged to close the distance before he could react. Gatatog Rak died, surprise and fear in his body language, with his quads out as I emptied my Spikethrower into his face. Then I charged away and ran. That part surprised even me. I had expected to stand my ground and die when his krantt came to avenge him. My instincts had other ideas. I charged until I was exhausted, and then ran until I found a place to hide and recuperate. I was sure I had lost my pursuers. Now I just needed to recover lost energy and plan my next move. In light of my unwillingness to die when the opportunity presented itself, I decided to leave Tuchanka entirely. That would be a form of death, certainly. Clan Strogjaw had a spaceport that I could use to charter passage, and so that was where I went. “Sold the Spikethrower for enough credits to book a passage off planet and for the first time in my life I was amongst the stars. They were, and are, beautiful. Their light was able to reach me, even in the dark place I was in. I was still angry, but now the burning desire for revenge had been replaced with a pulsing hatred. I hated the turians for using the Genophage. I hated the salarians for making it. I hated other krogan for being so stupid and violent as to not adapt to the new reality of the genophage. I hated other species for just allowing us to wallow in our degradation and not doing anything to help us. Most of all, I hated asari for their ability to have children. They could bring life into the galaxy with no fear that it would die minutes later, and they could do it so easily. I needed somewhere to take all this hatred, and I found it when a pirate crew was recruiting on some terminus system planet bar that I was on. “I was only even recruited because I was a krogan that seemed smarter than the males they usually encountered, and they hoped I would be able to help them. The hapless idiots had stumbled upon an old krogan frigate from before we lost the ability to manufacture starships. Nearly 1000 years old, but it was in surprisingly good shape. Say what you want about krogan, but we build things to last. I’m not much of a tech person, but I was able to translate the language throughout the ship. Between that and their own mildly competent engineers we got it up and running. As soon as that happened, I killed the captain and took over, as his vision for a raiding empire didn’t line up with my vision for revenge against the entire galaxy.” She pauses, shifting. Her smile and pleasant demeanor drops for a moment as she seems to ponder what to say next. “And then…well, dearie, let's just say that I made terrible choices for twenty years before fate caught up with me and I crash landed on Nevos.” (Exogeni Note: Despite Kallie’s outright refusal to give details to her pirating days, the timeframe matches when the female krogan pirate Korva (Translate as Despair) and her ancient frigate Kor’sha Arakan (Translated as Mother’s Wrath), went on a twenty year terror spree along and throughout Council Space, focusing on asari colonies and ships before her ship was destroyed in the Silean Nebula and she was never seen again, presumed dead with her entire crew. In addition, what scant descriptions we have from survivors of Korva paint a picture that looks suspiciously like Kallie. In spite of our best efforts to get more details from her, Kallie remained stubbornly insistent upon her very vague description of her time as a pirate and we have cut that part of the audio recording, resuming with her crash.) ”Now, if you’re done attempting to suplex a thresher maw dearie, I believe that we were talking about my crash landing on Nevos? Yes. It was an ugly crash. My escape pod was both old and had taken damage during its launch, and I’m honestly not sure how I survived. “My secondary lungs, tertiary liver, secondary kidneys, my right arm bones, left leg bones, and my ribs certainly didn’t! I clawed my way out of the ruins and started walking through the woods as far as I could in the temperate weather. I’m sure I was bleeding buckets for a few minutes and that if I had been able to feel it the pain would have been excruciating. Even though I had survived, I’m told that what didn’t immediately get destroyed in the impact was severely damaged and it was a miracle that I was able to crawl out of the wreckage at all. It was mostly the blood rage that kept me going. That adrenaline boost and shutdown of everything except the primal need to survive is what kept me alive until I collapsed from sheer exhaustion. Last thing I recall is crawling through a stream and then collapsing. When I awoke I was in a strange bed, restrained with an asari tending to me. I didn’t even have the energy to snarl at her, simply staring with anger as she took care of my wounds. When she finally noticed that I was awake, she explained that she was Zia Jovos and that she and her wife Shira T’wani had found me in the woods. They had taken me home and would be healing me for the foreseeable future. She further explained that in spite of my obvious hatred for her, they couldn’t just leave me to die or cast me to the wolves. Alune preached healing and forgiveness no matter who it was. As they were both Adjucants of Alune they had sworn oaths to uphold those ideals, and they would do just that to me. I was informed that even with my krogan durability and healing it would be months before I was able to walk again, much less leave. I didn’t say anything, and she left. The next few months were agony, both physically and mentally. As my body healed, I was trapped in that damned bed and eventually forced to interact with the two of them out of sheer boredom. Over time, they broke down my wall of hatred and helped me overcome the grief that I’d been hiding behind rage for decades. They helped me realize what terrible mistakes I had made, even without me telling them the details of my past, and helped me realize that I could still recover from those mistakes and make amends. It’s painful, realizing that what you’ve done is wrong and the views you’ve held your entire life are outright false. It makes you feel incredibly small. I still don’t know why they didn’t turn me into the authorities when they had the chance. The only answer I’ve ever gotten was that it wasn’t what Alune would have wanted, whatever that means. “When I was fully healed I decided that I wanted to make amends for all the damage I’d done by healing instead of harming. Zia pulled a few strings with her influence and connections and I was enrolled in the University of Irisia, one of the top medical colleges on the planet. I am still the only krogan to ever enroll in the college, and I graduated top of my class! Much to the shame of many of my classmates, I might add!” (Exogeni note: There has been, surprisingly, one other krogan who was enrolled in the University of Irisia before Kallie. But he didn’t even last a full year, so Kallie dismisses him as ‘not really counting. We didn’t bother arguing with her about it.) “With a new lease on life and a shiny new doctorate, I was determined to go out into the galaxy and save lives instead of taking them! Unfortunately for me, no respectable medical organizations trust a krogan doctor. After about my hundredth rejected application, I decided that it was perhaps best to go back to what I knew best and use my degree and experience there. Not as a pirate this time, but as a legitimate mercenary who helped those who couldn’t rely on governments or security forces to help them. “I spent the next hundred or so years going from mercenary company to mercenary company as they either disbanded or I left, gaining valuable battlefield medicine experience and the ability to adapt to practically any situation I was in, be it a well stocked medical ward on a ship or a muddy, shitty, battlefield hole with next to no supplies left. I became familiar with a wide variety of species’s biologies and a truly disgusting number of diseases and battlefield wounds. “I stopped that ‘illustrious’ career path when I was on Omega during a shore leave and felt a small hand attempting to take my credits from my pocket! I snatched my hand downward and lifted up the perpetrator to look them in the eyes. I was immediately smitten by absolutely the cutest freckled face with the brightest eyes you’ve ever seen! Oh, my Starlight was so small then but defiant and angry. Oh, you should see..” (Exogeni note: At this point, Kalli went on a long tangent about her daughter and her many virtues, in addition to showing her very large collection of pictures of Vasiana on her omni-tool. With difficulty, we were able to get her back on track but we have cut out that part of the audio recording.) ”Apologies, I’m just so proud of her! Now, where was I? Right, meeting Vasiana. Well, I caught her blue handed. I set her down and despite her best efforts to intimidate me and get me to leave her alone I found out that she was an orphan on Omega. She had no one to look out for her but herself. Well, I certainly wasn’t going to let that happen any longer! I informed my captain that I was leaving, collected what remained of my pay, and then took Vasiana under my wing. I rented an apartment for the both of us and set about starting my life anew. It only took a few weeks for me to realize that Vasiana wasn’t the only orphaned child running around Omega. They all needed my help. So with my credits I had left over, I bought a small warehouse and started renovating it. “Within the year I had an acceptable orphanage going and a medical clinic attached to it, with actual functional medical equipment! You would be surprised at how many things are just able to be scavenged in Omega if you are willing to go and get it. For the next hundred years this would be my life. Raising Vasiana and helping the other orphans have a safe place from the dangers of Omega, while treating and caring for the locals as best I could. It didn’t bring in a lot of credits, but it did bring safety for the children and loyalty and appreciation from the locals. I was even able to set aside a little for the children to have when they became adults, just to get them started. “I only ever had problems with gangs a few times, and those dropped drastically when they realized that I would better serve them as a neutral doctor that they could rely on. It also helped that the poor locals around me were willing to fight to keep me and my orphanage safe since I had done so much for them. My business and my income didn’t really take off until after the explosion of 2133. That was a terrible event. I spent hours covered in blood and ash as I drug victim after victim from the rubble and did my best to save their lives. Blood Pack, Eclipse, Aria’s gang, The Eyes of Aralakh, The Talons, The Pillars, didn’t matter who you were or who you were affiliated with, at my clinic you were taken care of and protected. The gangs all took notice of that. They all heard from their members that I saved how my clinic was a neutral ground where everyone was taken care of equally and they all began to use my services. “They only attempted to flip me exclusively to their sides a few times, accepting my refusals in fear that I might cut them off entirely. Unless it was Aria requesting things, of course. I’m stubborn, not stupid. I did whatever her messengers asked, but also requested they ask her to not make demands that would make me or the children a target for other factions in Omega. She’s a gracious woman, and did not ever make such demands. With all the credits and goodwill that came from gangs coming to me I was able to improve the orphanage. I was even able to move my clinic away from directly against it, expanding it in the process. I managed to get a ‘no illicit activity’ zone set around the orphanage itself and pay mercenaries to keep an eye on both it and my clinic. Nothing’s ever happened, but it's nice to have a safety net in case someone decides revenge is more important than anything. “That’s what I was doing when your Ms. Mathews came through my doors and I had to patch her up, and it's what I was doing when I got your offer! The credits I’m getting are good for living on Omega, of course, but the credits you’re offering are mind-boggling, to say the least. How could I say no?”

Combat Analysis ◢
As with all krogan, Kallie thrives on the frontline in the thick of the fight. There, she naturally draws enemy fire away from her squad as both a krogan and a biotic and she is able to react as quickly as possible to friendly wounds and injuries. She uses her three biotic skills (Barrier, Focus, and Charge) and her natural hardiness as a krogan to get to allies even in the most dangerous of situations and then remove them to a secure location to tend to their wounds. When she’s not patching up her allies, she is using either her Striker to lay down covering fire, her Graal to clear CQC situations, or her biotics to either defend her allies or close in on enemies.
Reason for Vacating Previous Situation ◢
While being a doctor on Omega that all the various fighting gangs trusted to be neutral and competent was providing a steady income and keeping the orphanage safe, the amount of credits that Exogeni indicated would be paid out were, in her own words ‘absolutely insane’. There are many things Kallie could do with the kind of credits Exogeni is offering, and so she was on a ship to the meeting as soon as she was able to.
