From the struggles of being on an alien planet and the powers and responsibilities that come with it. Though sometimes I could see him unintentionally neglecting Kieran and his needs with all that he has going on dealing with his grief and raising Jon as a widowed father. Basically have Kieran experience all sides of Clark, including his flaws. He may even try and help him regain his memories but after a time both of them start putting little to no effort into it as it seems hopeless and Kieran stops caring altogether.
