Shinobu Asakura is an optimist at heart, believing that a “New tomorrow will bring a new beginning, no matter the present, as long as you move forward you will be able to find what you’re looking for.” As such she kept her own kindness towards others despite her misfortunes and holds a surprisingly strong will due to her optimism. 

As she didn’t have many friends in either life, one of Shinobu’s goals is to make friends and maybe even find love. Unfortunately, due to a lack of social interactions, she is what you would consider a nervous wreck when interacting with other people. She is constantly stuttering over words and is generally shy and uncertain around people. Despite this she is willing to help and stand up for people in need.

While her general personality is that of Shinobu, she is still influenced by Aliciana’s personality, namely she still holds Aliciana’s latent bloodlust. Due to this influence Shinobu developed a fear that Aliciana’s influence would cause her to be taken over by the bloodlust and become like Aliciana in the game, a complete psychopath. For this reason she actively fears killing others and tries her best to avoid a fight. 

[*][u]Abilities/Skills[/u]:

While she isn’t as powerful as her in-game counterpart due to not going down the route that would create “The Reaper'' and her dislike of killing, she is still very much a force to be reckoned with in terms of both physical and magical combat prowess as the original Aliciana was proficient in both. Though Shinobu’s style is very different. Aliciana used a scythe in combat to fit with her Grim Reaper motif, Shinobu chooses to fight with her fists. As for her magic Aliciana possesses very powerful Dark Magic. Shinobu prefers to use it more for the ability to hide in the shadows to avoid fights, though if she has to fight, she prefers spells like Shadow Bind to restrain her opponents or to charge her fists with dark energy to enhance her attacks. Aliciana is also capable of using demonic spells due to being experimented on, but Shinobu actively refuses to use these spells. 

Other than combat, Aliciana is capable of the skills that you would expect from a hitman, such as sneaking around and free running. Outside of that, Shinobu is actually kind of a klutz at everything else. 

[*][u]History[/u]:

Shinobu was born sickly and was constantly bedridden, confined in a hospital bed. Her mother and father constantly supported her and told her “New tomorrow will bring a new beginning, no matter the present, as long as you move forward you will be able to find what you’re looking for.” This was something she always kept in her heart and she constantly kept a positive attitude about her condition believing that if she kept holding on. So she waited and dreamed about the things that she would be able to do when she recovered. It was here that she was introduced to video games, specifically Cross Heart Academy, needless to say she very much enjoyed the game and its world and cast as it was the closest thing she could experience to having both friends and going to school. Eventually things would get better and to her delight, it did, advancements in medical technology eventually allowed her to recover and allowed her to recover and start walking with her own two legs, however, she wouldn’t get to enjoy her newfound life for long as she chose to give it up, as shortly after her recovery she would spot a child who was in the road as a speeding car was heading towards them. Shinobu leaped forwards and pushed the child out of the way… but couldn’t get away in time and was ran over. Her last thoughts were of lamenting her life, most of it confined to a bed and the amount of time that she had freedom was cut short, perhaps she could get a second chance? A second chance to live a full life?

She would get that chance she would awaken in a blood soaked facility. The sudden awakening left her confused and terrified, as she looked into a glass to see her face… or rather what should have been her face, as who was staring back at her was a red eyed child, one she recognized as the younger version of a character from Cross Heart Academy… Aliciana Amaryllis all around psychopath, about to break out from the facility. Shinobu, now Aliciana, realizing that she couldn’t stick around and escaped into the night, despite her reservations about who she had become, decided to keep moving forward.

The next few years of her life were difficult as she lived on the street. Unlike in the game where Aliciana became a hired Killer, Shinobu opted for a lower  profile work, working as a courier in the city, which took advantage of Aliciana’s skill set. Four years after the escape, when she was doing a delivery, a horse carriage suddenly went out of control and threatened to run over a child. Aliciana dashed in and pushed the child out of the way, a repeat of the incident that ended Shinobu’s previous life, however, In this life Aliciana was much more physically fit and able to also get out of the way of the carriage. 

As it turns out, the child was actually the grandson of the headmaster of Starveil Academy. Due to her saving of his grandson and due to the fact that she was practically homeless, he gave her a proposal: he will adopt Aliciana and sign her up to the Academy giving her a home and a proper education. She thought about it and she agreed, one was due to the fact her current living situation was sleeping in alleyways and trying to live off what little she made in her courier job and the second reason is to experience the things that she didn’t experience in her two lives. Namely school and having friends. Perhaps she could make friends with the main cast, she thought, after all she knew all about them and they definitely didn’t know who Aliciana was. Right?

[*][u]Original Role and Background[/u]:

Years ago there was an organization that took several orphans and subjected them to inhumane training and experimentation, eventually having the children kill each other to root out weakness, so that they could create the greatest killer. This worked out far too well, as one of the children slaughtered everyone else, eventually breaking out, having killed everyone that stood in their way to freedom. This child would not stop the bloodshed as this child would continue their killing spree as a contract killer and in a few short years they would become “The Reaper of the Criminal Underworld” becoming a boogeyman only spoken of in hushed tones. It was said that none who were targeted by the Reaper would survive. 

That was the backstory given to Aliciana in the game, most would find it rather edgy, though they wouldn’t find it laughable as Aliciana was responsible for some of the most nightmarish scenes in the game. Aliciana only showed up in the second half of the game, as she would be hired by specific factions that opposed the Heroine. She would take advantage of her young age to infiltrate the academy, as according to the developers, they didn’t want anywhere to feel safe when Aliciana showed up. To add to her infamy Aliciana more than lived up to her in-game reputation as she was one of the toughest bosses in the game, fully capable of wiping out a party who wasn’t fully prepared to fight her in a few turns.
