[b][color=gold]Personality:[/color][/b] OfAll was that kid who was happy to be relied on, to be capable, who could be turned to when a problem needed solving. Those traits were put to the test when she became the guardian of her little sister at a young age, after they'd been taken away from their community where many of the children displayed mutant powers. 

While some days would find OfAll dispirited, rarely did she feel put upon, and maintained her general calm-in-the-face-of-stress personality up into adulthood. Her feathers don't typically get ruffled, though she can inadvertently ruffle others as she'd sooner offer a solution than a shoulder to cry on. Not out of a lack of sympathy -in fact, OfAll's logic comes from the heart- but from perhaps a deeper seeing of the situation as she's very much a "Rachel Carson-type" (sees connections where others don't). 

This is backed up by a good instinct about people - one of the few times you'll find OfAll being completely closed off and borderline rude is when she suspects the person before her has negative ulterior motives; OfAll's disposition then conveying "I'm not buying what you're selling". Though she's smart enough to do this in a measured way - safety top of mind.

Though life put her in a leadership role early on and her personality lends itself well to such -little ego, active listener, adaptive-thinking- OfAll feels more at ease in a following or supporting role.

[b][color=gold]How did you discover your powers:[/color][/b] OfAll discovered her powers gradually while she and her little sister were on the streets [i](see General History)[/i]. First came a day after they'd run out of their supplies and were starting to struggle. Jaclyn was thinking [i]'if it were just raining at least we could have a drink...if I could control the weather like that mutant who showed up when that apartment complex was on fire..[/i], and then it rained. Testing afterward, she thought she was exactly like that other mutant. Until the next situation, when she and her sister were hanging out in one of their favourite rest spots -the library- and she thought if she could just change her appearance like she's [i]sure[/i] she saw another mutant do once, she could get into the staff room and snag some of the refreshments she saw being brought in. Just like that, she took on the appearance of the customer service agent she was focusing on. Which was freaky...and a relief that she could revert back.

Testing afterward in a safe spot outside, revealed she could no longer control the weather, only shapeshift.
What followed was some very calculated experimentation (which involved hypotheses, notes, and multiple days) which confirmed to Jaclyn what her powers were.

While in the early days she seemed to manifest by osmosis, as Jaclyn's powers "settled in" she found she could no longer manifest powers she couldn't make adequate sense of -she hasn't been able to Shapeshift since those first days.

[b][color=gold]General History:[/color][/b] Jaclyn lived with her parents and some extended family in a close-knit community, up until the age of about 7, when she was forcibly relocated by an organization who believed the community brought out the latent mutant gene at a disproportionate rate, and that placing the children with "appropriate" families was the only way to "correct the problem".

When Jaclyn passed the expected age without manifesting mutant powers, the organization believed they'd made a good placement and -following a subsequent sweep of the community- placed Jaclyn's baby sister, Imogene, with the same family they'd placed Jaclyn. 

While they had been living in Canada, the family moved to New York shortly after receiving Imogene.

The family was nice so long as you weren't a mutant. Jaclyn had observed many instances of this while she grew up there, and upon recognizing early mutant manifestation in her preschooler sister, Jaclyn knew she had to do something before it was discovered - afraid of what fate Imogene would have if she didn't. So under the guise of having a picnic at the park with some "appropriate friends", Jaclyn was able to get away with her little sister and a full pack of food (plus other essentials like what she managed to take from their "family's" first aid kit).

Though a combination of smarts, instinct, unity, stranger's generosity, and luck, not to mention coping mechanisms and Jaclyn's powers manifesting, the girls managed. 

Growing up, Jaclyn took most any job that would have her (careful not to reveal herself as a mutant lest that cut off other opportunities - which isn't the same as saying she didn't use her powers), and eventually secured her and her sister a place to live in a decent-enough neighbourhood. Around the point of maturity most powers begin manifesting, however, is when Imogene's began to feel more like a concern. Coupled with her physiological maturity slowing, Jaclyn felt she needed to find specific help for her sister - Xavier's Institute for Gifted Youngsters was a godsend. 

Not only does Jaclyn feel comfortable her little sister (who goes by the mutant name of "Holo") is getting the special attention she needs, she's also happy Holo has a living arrangement that keeps her further away from the typical city goings-on.

Recently, Jaclyn has taken over the running of Mutant Outreach Centre after the previous head of it fell to the M-Pox outbreak in 2021.

[b][color=gold]Anything Else:[/color][/b] My favourite Marvel character, that's a tricky one as I'm typically hard pressed to pick 1 favourite of anything. Even if we narrow down to groups or adaptations, for instance MCU: both Captain Marvel and Iron Man leap to mind, followed immediately by Spider-Man and Captain America. Ms. Marvel is fun, and I have a particular liking for Hawkeye with no particular reason why.

It's nearly the same story if we're talking favourite X-Man, but I am presently major into Cyclops. The reason differs depending what we're talking about: Movies (original timeline) = I just like his personality. He seems very "there"; takes ownership of his actions / emotions; he's an appealing blend of solid and sensitive with a level of attitude I like. Comics = "Summers Protocols" 'nuff said. Animated Series = His temperament; the voice actor was so good.
