She frets about if her hair is out of place, or if there's anything about her outfits and presentation that doesn't suggest she's competent and capable of taking care of herself. She prefers darker shades of blue and grey, with button up blouses and skirts being her go to combination. Her hair is kept long, and neatly tied back behind her head in a single ponytail. Relationship Status: Single Alignment: Neutral good Personality: Mary Sue is best described as a ball of insecurities with something to prove. Her life has been spent in isolation, and as a consequence of that, she neither knows hows to connect with people, nor does she know how to deal with the possibility of failure. The dual side of that, however, is she has a rich internal life. She thinks before she speaks, and when she does, she does it well. School is her first chance to have a life, and because of that, the thing she's most scared of in the world is losing that. Interpersonally, most of her social issues come from the fact that she will often refrain from speaking if she hasn't had adequate time to consider her possible responses. She likes to understand things in their entirity before acting, and conversation isn't a place where she can do that. In anything she does, she strives for perfection, and would often prefer to do nothing at all than make a mistake. In short, Mary Sue has a low tolerance for mistakes she could make, but when she acts she has faith that she's acted correctly. Habits: Doodling, knuckle cracking. Her father, being a man of science, was reasonably certain that the mess of genetics that ran through her cells had to result in something fantastic. For the majority of her childhood however, nothing came. It was never stated directly to her of course, but between the intermittent probing questions was an air of impatience. It was then, when she was ten, that her abilities manifested in a rather plain way. There was a piece of poetry she was reading, Hope Is The Thing With Feathers, and it hit her in a part I Yale way. She couldn't help but imagine that hope was a thing that she'd lost, and wasn't there for her anymore. The intense focus and feelings surrounding this lead to a small, pale pink feather materializing on the thing in front of her. She reached out a hand to observe what she had made, only for it to shatter to dust before her. For all the expectations that were for her, it seemed like all she could do was make thin projections of things. General History: Mary Sue Sullivan was born to the inhuman son of Thanos, Oliver Sullivan, and the mutant Secret Warrior Niah Bautista. Her parents wer eloving, but her father especially was prone to over protection. He'd fought for a lot during his years with SHIELD, and had seen death and destruction that he'd never even dremt of. When he'd realized that he was going to have a daughter, he knew that there would be lots of people in the world and the universe at large who'd want to hurt her. With a fundamental mistrust of institutions and a paranoia that left him privy to assume the worst would happen, Mary Sue was left with a childhood defined by isolation, love, and study. She was cared for, however, primarily homeschooled and given every oppurtunity to succeed. Her parents knew so many great people, she was exposed to people they trusted, so many superheroes in their own right. She'd hear stories of Avengers and Colonies on the Moon, X-men and different universes. It filled her with a fundamental desire for that to be a part of her life. She knew that, under all of her parents concerns, they belived a greatness existed in her, and that pushed her to dare to dream of achieving it. Art and creative expression was something she could do, that she was most drawn to because it was a way for her to shine that her parents couldn't. They were both great scientists, geniuses each in their own right, but a part of her always hoped that in art, she could do something neither of them could. Thus, when she discovered her powers, she was happy, but conflicted. Her father could run at speeds faster than a human could percieve, and her mom could had a litany of diverse and marvelous abilities, but it seemed all Mary Sue could do was create small, obvious, fragile illusions of things. She felt like she had failed before she even began her journey. All the heroes she'd read about and even met, she could never be like them. It stung, and led her to keep her powers to herself for over a year after discovering them, wanting to find something, anything that made them useful. She failed at this, no matter how she tried, it felt like on her own, she couldn't make these stronger or more life like. It crushed her. She eventully came to the decision that, if she wanted to accomplish her goals, going to the Avenger's Academy was the only option. Proposed Arc: Write a list of ideas you have for character arcs, as these'll help the GM shape the RP. For example, maybe you want your character to discover that they aren't actually completely human after all, but one of their parents was a fairy from Otherworld! Or maybe your character has a lot of trauma in their past, and you'd like to see them heal and grow.

Learning that being a hero isn't about getting everything right, and that mistakes are a part of the job.
Coming to understand the true nature of her powers.
I'd love for Mary Sue to get a chance to resolve her father's conflict with Thanos and have a role in ending him.

Extras
Character Quote: You only get one chance at first impressions, best to make them as good as possible.
