Even much of his head. Maybe about half of his torso and the relevant parts of his nervous system are all that remains. While his face mostly appears human and is not necessarily cybernetic, it is largely synthetic. He is at best maybe 20-30% biological. He's lost track. The cybernetics are rather high output and durable, but are otherwise quite simple. It is all these cybernetics and synthetic parts that have allowed him to all but stop aging and continue fighting at full capacity even at his age. Also, all these parts help him connect to his exo-suit...
X2E9 “Belial” Mechanized Exoskeleton – An aging, experimental combat exo-suit that Kelan has been in possession of for many years. It’s a shadow of its former self at this point, but still brutally powerful in terms of raw strength. It is powered by a micro aura-reactor that to this day hasn't been truly surpassed despite being decades old. At this point, it puts out more power than the degrading suit around it can actually handle.

◦ Plasma repeater – Defunct ◦ Twin arm mounted auto-cannons – Defunct ◦ Missile pod – Defunct ◦ Micro-missiles – Nope ◦ Arc projector – Fried ◦ VLM – Fragged ◦ Mortar Attachment – Wrecked ◦ Long range radar – Toast ◦ Particle Disruptor – Disrupted ◦ Night-vision – Sometimes ◦ High-Output Laser – Put Out ◦ Flechette Launcher – Scrapped ◦ HF Blades – Shattered ◦ Bomblet Rack – Caved-in ◦ Cluster Munitions – Cluster Effed ◦ Flares – Removed then lost ◦ Multipurpose Shoulder-Mounted Cannon Mk. 1 – Oops ◦ Multipurpose Shoulder-Mounted Cannon Mk. 2 – Actually a downgrade, it can rotate between two modes, rather than the Mk. 1’s three. A sniper cannon and an impact grenade. Basically the only integrated weapon currently functioning.

XEGA-88 - Kelan's primary weapon. A medium-large, handheld, electromagnetic rotary cannon. An individual of average human strength and proportions could hold it, but firing it would likely lead to various injuries or at least total loss of control of the weapon. Kelan's augments allow him to fire it from the hip even without the Belial. It has various firing modes and a utility launcher. It also has the ability to basically eat any objects made of ferrous metal and turn them into more ammo.

XOC-1 Hellseed AKA "The Pod" - A drop pod for the Belial that can survive atmospheric entry if needed. The pod is so robust that it could, in theory, be used for kinetic orbital bombardment. Presumably the occupant could even survive such an act... so long as the occupant is Kelan or someone similarly durable.
P0P-G - A non-human specie's attempt at building a pistol for the Vangarian empires mechanized infantry. In many ways a work of art, but only 10 were ever made before the contract was officially lost. It was prohibitively expensive and the recoil would turn most humanoid race's wrists and/or forearms into powder. Kelan does not have this problem and it's his go to weapon when outside of the Belial. It’s probably BS, but the truth isn’t terribly far off.
Has solid, but highly specialized mechanical knowledge. He can’t rebuild a ship engine, but he can make a gun out of scraps and tune up his suit and limbs enough to keep them running. Can probably weld just about anything back together as long as it doesn’t need to be pretty.
Can crash a ship with the best of ‘em.
Doing unfathomably stupid shit and somehow surviving.

Crew Details
Personality: Kelan is very straightforward, but a bit of a glory hog. He lives for shock and awe. A psychologist would have a field day, or a nervous breakdown, trying to unravel him, but on the surface it's very simple. If you're his friend you'll be treated like family and regaled with endless, over the top and exaggerated stories. You won't be bored, but he can to be exhausting to be around after a time. If you're his enemy, he's ruthless. The only mercy afforded will be a quick death. He can go from one to the other at the flip of a switch. He can put a bullet in someone before a smile even fades from telling a joke. Some find it unsettling... History: He was a soldier. He got blown up. The military wouldn't spring for the good stuff to put him back together so he "donated" himself to science. He was rebuilt and allowed to pilot the experimental Belial exo-suit in order to gather combat data for future improvements. One day, after a round of upgrades, he was sent on a rather peculiar assignment. Some sort of terrorist or pirate group was assaulting a deep-space station. Kelan boarded the station was effectively walked over most of the attackers, but the small station was otherwise eerily quiet. That was when he found his true opponent. It was some sort of hive creature, capable of reforming its body at will or when he shot it. It seemed furious at his mere presence, even before he'd actually begun shooting it. He did not know what it was or why such lowly scum had it in their presence. The alien creatures strength and resilience caused the fight to drag on, and the damage to the station, and his suit, was beginning to add up. Finally, as the station was crumbling around them, the creature seemed to have lost the energy to put itself back together, but so too was the Belial in a critical state. Kelan exited the suit, the life-support system having failed. As he gasped for breath and tried to think of a way out, he heard the suit he'd just left begin to move. The creature had crawled its way inside and possessed it like some sort of demon. However, as it leveled its weapons at Kelan... it did not fire. It could not fire. It had possessed the machinery, but could not override the computerized safeties that were linked to Kelan and only Kelan. Before the fight could turn physical, both of them felt the station shudder as the main reactor began to melt down. Kelan could not survive in space without his suit, and the creature even with the suit would be stranded in deep space for effectively eternity. Their only hope was getting to the nearest docked ship, forming an uneasy truce between them. The truce of course ended the moment they made it onto Kelan's ship and the creature attempted to betray him... only to find it could not remove itself from the suit. Its being had become affectively fused to the Aura reactor and to forcibly remove itself would be fatal. The suit itself was too bulky to fly the ship. Kelan, having seen such a betrayal coming, wasn't even mad. He found this turn of events so ridiculous as to be hilarious. This was also when he learned that the creature had been Kelan's objective all along. It had been created by the same man who'd built the Belial. It had been a sort of hive-mind, but it's hive had been whittled away and replaced by nano-technology, trying to create a machine hive controlled by a sentient mind. Kelan had no issues with killing, but he had always felt he'd known who and why. He didn't like being an unwitting executioner. He wondered what hidden objectives he'd already accomplished for the man in the past. This left them in an awkward place. The creature was stuck in the suit, and the suit could not operate properly without Kelan. Meanwhile Kelan now had nowhere to go. And so was born the duo that would go on to carve a bloody swathe through the outer edges of the galaxy. In a way, both sought freedom. Freedom from the suit, from each other, and from the past... Quirk: Has a tendency to become eerily still and stare off into nothing when left alone. Turmoil: He has made innumerable enemies over the years, and left innumerable more in heaps of bloody ash. He is simply tired of running on his own. He was a soldier once, and a single soldier does not a unit make. He also has a very grumpy alien living in his suit... So, when he stumbled across the Guernica and the few poor souls trying to get by aboard it, he offered his services for a steal. His own ship had long since been abandoned to cover his tracks, he didn't trust public transit with his gear, and he'd been forced to shoot one too many privateers just trying to get himself from A to B. It proved to be a good fit and he's long since stopped charging them, now seeing it as his home even if he hasn't said as much aloud. If you see any ugly repair jobs on the ship, that was him before they found a proper engineer -- a moment everyone was grateful for. Kelan still gets some complaints about the really bad ones. He just insists that it keeps the air in the ship where it belongs. The colony was slowly torn apart, piece by piece, attempting to integrate a single unit into a new mechanical colony. Their captor was convinced that traditional AI couldn't fully replicate the capabilities of a true hivemind. In the end, he was right. "Echo" was successfully integrated into a swarm of nano-fluid that came under his control. He then used his newfound power to escape. However, surrounded by the nanites as he was, he still felt alone. He could command it, but not call to. It was a new, terrifying feeling -- to perceive the world, to conceptualize, on his own. He screamed silently into emptiness -- alone. He only heard himself. In time, his desperate cries turned to those of fury.
