Despite this, Peregrine is not a pushover. She will stand up for herself and others when faced with wrongdoing and is not afraid to break a rule if it gets in her way. She has strong opinions for how the world should be and it would take a strong force to get her to sway on those views. When Peregrine cares for someone, she goes at the relationship with all she has, sometimes too much. [b][color=E3867F]How did you discover your powers:[/color][/b] Peregrine was very young when she discovered she could see and converse with spirits. What she felt was normal her parents felt was cause for concern. No one believed she had the ability to speak to spirits and was hospitalized at a young age because of it. Peregrine was also, during this time, able to sense emotions in others, which allowed her to understand how to hide her ability.

[b][color=E3867F]General History:[/color][/b] The youngest member of the family, Peregrine was spoiled. Growing up, her parents doted on her daily, leaving a wide gap between her three other siblings. Peregrine never noticed though, which led to fights and name calling. Peregrine relied on school to make up the deficit she felt at home. Soon, her parents noticed that Peregrine would be speaking to someone who wasn't there. Chalking it up to an imaginary friend, it wasn't until her parents noticed that she would be responding and getting upset at whoever was there that they grew concerned.

Her parents sought professional help. Unbeknownst to naive, young Peregrine, who was able to see the people she spoke to, she did not know this was a strange occurrence. The psychiatrists she spoke to determined that she was showing signs of early schizophrenia and would need to be hospitalized for further study. Peregrine was held in a hospital, unable to see her parents as often as she had before. Peregrine gradually realized what was wrong and what was off about her. She soon was able to sense other people's emotions and responded accordingly, saying what she needed to and demonstrating she was "normal". 

Eventually after being there for two years, she was released. Her parents were still concerned and sent Peregrine to live with her aunt and uncle. It was there she was abused and ridiculed by the other kids at school, calling her a freak when they noticed she would be speaking to other people that were not there. The abuse got so bad that Peregrine contemplated horrible things.

Despite all of this, Peregrine remembered some things from therapy. Slowly, but surely, Peregrine was able to work her way through her problems and, after she graduated, came into her own identity and decided to not be trifled with anymore. She also made the decision to seek out further help with the powers she was developing. Xavier Institute seemed like the best place to start.
