◢
Ellisia is an Elph, a race of starfaring conquerors who originate in the The Divine Judiciary of Interstellar Planets - a faction much older than the Vangarian Empire that is centered on the planet of Xenos Prime. Beyond her pointy ears and lithe features, Ellisia has platinum blonde hair that almost resembles the glow of a moonlit sky. Her eyes are green, and her face is most often adorned with a scowl. Often seen with a synthweave longcoat in dark colors, Ellisia has made a concentrated effort to look how she looks. She prefers to blend in, though that can be difficult at times given Elph’s do not venture that far out of their own system too often. Par the course, for someone who rarely smiles, Ellisia is not particularly sociable or friendly. But why is she so guarded? Why be perceived cold? Because she has to. The best kept secret in the many of galaxies of the universe is the simple fact that Elphs are cosmic empaths. Creatures that feel the emotions of living beings that espouse energy around them. Said energy spreads to them like bees to honey, invading their own emotions and without a level of control of keeping emotions mute would make them erratic creatures eventually doomed to madness and mania. Even with her time away from her people Ellisia remembers it well and she feels the heartbeat of everything around her. Her mind latching onto emotions like a vacuum and people’s rage, sadness, and everything in-between trying to influence her. Sometimes she wishes she had been born human or some other race that doesn’t have such issues.
What Do You Bring to the Table? ◢
Other than being a crack pilot and a frickin’ Elph? Well, she’s decent at maintaining her own personal weapons? She doesn’t snore a lot. Ellisia is not going to be the girl who is able to convince a scavenger to part with his best item for his cheapest price. She’s not going to laborious repairs on the ship. She’s not a doctor, or a scientist. She was trained to be a crack pilot to wage war against an interstellar nightmare race and any other threats to elphenkind. She’s good with weapons, but she’s not the brawler or marksman. In the field, she is mostly supplementary, though due to her biochemistry is a pretty good door-kicker. See, there’s a reason for that. Aura, the space dust that sprawls over galaxies and allows people to tap into extranormal effects that laymen call magic, that stuff was all over the Elphen homeworld before Elphs were Elphs. It’s why Ellisia and basically any other Elph ever can use kinetic magic. The trade-off is the power of this magic is scaled on the Elph’s energy reserves from their empathic nature. Essentially, Ellisia can channel emotions to make people hurt.
What's Your Problem? ◢
Ellisia’s story probably is best told with this point: Ellisia isn’t her real name. She made it up. Princess Xaldamiine Ehn’elthos Viie Xenos is the eldest daughter of the ruler and celestial judicator of Xenos, Overlord Melieus. When she was in her father’s shadow, she was trained in a starbattler academy that prepared countless Elphs with their fate of being a interstellar pilot combating high priority threats to the judiciary. Of the cadets, Xaldamiine would be one of the most talented of her generation. When she was declared Killed In Action years later, it was an interstellar tragedy. Truth is, yeah, that part is all true. Ellisia was in a big battle and something significant happened where she nearly was lost to the stars. The wreck of her ship was found not by her people, but scavenger-pirates called The Black Fae, whom carefully realized an Elph girl would make a high price on the black market. So she was trafficked, or nearly trafficked. By the time Ellisia escaped from The Black Fae she realized that the life of a hopeless ethereal death at the hands of the enemies of Xenos is not the life she wished to lead. Free from that responsibility, she was finally allowed to experience the greater universe with nobody looming over her shoulders reaping her independence away. So she decided to name herself Ellisia and go as far away from Xenos as she could. As she met her first humans and explored the galaxy she would come to know many faces. Her work as a independent contractor–a hired gun, found her gaining skills that she would not have had if she stayed within the reach of her father, though it also granted her new enemies. An Elph so far from Xenos? Rare. She liked it that way. She liked being free to be who she wanted to be even more.
Life in the Crew ◢
One of the older members of the Guernica, she considers Kian a “kindred soul”. The two met when Ellisia was evading some kind of trouble, though they really didn’t bond until Kian’s “piloting” almost got the Guernica blasted into space dust–and not the fun kind. Ellisia aggressively took over as pilot and made sure they found a way out of the bad situation. She never did decide where she was going, so the Guernica became her new home.
