Yet it is so much more, the darkness hides things and obscures what the mortal mind perceives. It makes men see shapes in the dark, like boogeymen and shadow people. The darkness is only as strong as man perceives it is, fear can make the most harmless of dark apparitions into something more. Aryion hides in all darkness, watching but never interferes. He doesn't understand what mortals fear of the dark, but understanding what the mortal mind fears is fascinating to him sometimes to the detriment to human life. Of which he does not understand nor seem to care for its value. Aryion, views the world as though it were a mystery. Everything seems to fascinate him though he is incapable of expressing exclamation or surprise. The god is stoic and almost devoid of emotion, the most expression he is capable of is irritation at the constant interruption of the light. When darkness came so did the light, and like the light Ki'ryah always seems to find a way to find him. No matter how much he tries to spend time in the darkness watching the infinite cosmos, the light of his sister is inescapable. She sees life in a way he doesn't, life is a puzzle to the god of shadows whereas to Ki'ryah it is a wonderful picture. Out of all the gods and all the universes, Aryion and Ki'ryah represent a balance but also an imbalance in one another. Aryion is devoid of emotion, incapable of valuing life but still fascinated by it and Ki'ryah loves all things and cherishes it but does not understand it fully as her brother does. Though the goddess of light seems to make him express what little emotion he has whenever she spends her time pestering him.[/sup]
▬▬ Biography ▬▬
[sup]For as long as the world was alive there was always darkness even in the wake of light. Nobody knows where the shadows came from, but if it were not for the light there would be no shadows to cast. For time immemorial, the shadowy figure has existed and watched the worlds, mortals who chanced him could only comprehend him as a shade or something of a trick of the imagination. Human's fear the things they do not understand and for as long as they have existed ao to has their primal fear of what hides in the shadows. Yet it was always him, the only secret he didn't understand was the human mind. For as a god, he was not bound by impermanent flesh or a mind that could deteriorate or change. To a god, a mortal is a mysterious creature that is capable of change. Over time like his counterpart, the darkness took form but unlike Ki'ryah the god of shadows has never been comfortable in a shape other than his incorporeal form.[/sup]
▬▬ Domain/Abilities ▬▬
[sup]The Domain of Shadows: The source of all that is obscure, all that hides and tricks the untrained eye. Darkness is the source of Aryion's powers, it is not easily perceived let alone understood. It is infinite yet impermanent, and powerful yet powerless. Sometimes shadows are only as strong as those who see them believe. The domain of shadows grants Aryion the power to manipulate darkness, create things from it like images or apparitions or assume its shape and hide within it. He himself is incapable of physically harming any being yet his apparitions may inadvertently cause harm or death to mortal life. The domain of shadows allows him to easily hide from sight, yet it cannot hide him from the light that which casts away the darkness. Supposedly, he is privvy to forbidden secrets and the untold knowledge of the cosmos. And while the domain does give him insight into the darkest of knowledge he is still stumped by something as simple as the human mind.[/sup]
