[/indent][indent]Chise offered a slight smile as Shiratori responded in affirmative. He turned again towards his destination and waited for her to follow along next to him as they started to walk. For a few moments, the company of something normal seemed to ease his nerves a bit. But it did little to quell his mind.

Her next inquiry had the opposite effect, actually. As she spoke, his eyes darted to look at her out of the corner of his vision as they walked.

He made a conscious effort to subtly increase the distance between the two of them by a foot or so as they walked, even as he slowed his pace once again.
