Many magics both foul and supernal. And, with the right working of will perhaps, many paths to power for ones such as us - tamed as Marika might believe us to be."[/sub]

[sub]
~Nature & Demeanor~
▬▬ Nature ▬▬ Autocrat: It's your way or the highway. You want to be in charge, and seek prominence for its own sake, not necessarily because you have the organization's best interests at heart or have the best ideas, though certainly you think both of those things are true. You may genuinely believe that others are incompetent, but ultimately you crave power and control. You are likely to justify your authority through imagined or real threats, and though your leadership may be solid, you also brook no argument from those with equally valid alternate viewpoints. ▬▬ Demeanor ▬▬ Mystic: It's a strange world out there, and you're determined to find out more about it. Whether it's esoteric subjects like alchemy or the geography of the parallel dimensions, or more "worldly" matters like the interactions of various magics or the creation of ephemera, you have keen insights into the matter. You may not be willing to reveal all the tricks of your trade, but you enjoy the accord you receive as a student of the great unknown. Other affairs can wait so long as there is new spirituality or metascience to hold your attention.
~Appearance~
Very few have seen Byversax's true form in recent days, and even fewer still have lived to tell about it save for others of his kind or certain members of the Cult. Although a hulking behemoth of a dragon, one in possession of a stoney hide the likes of which would take the Bolt of Gransax to pierce and four thunderous wings, Byversax' true draconic appearance is the complete opposite of the lean and lithe build sported by most of his kind. Indeed, he bears more in common with the Dragonlord than he does anyone else, and even then only in regards to physical stature. Regardless, he is a walking contradiction right down to the horns on his head, and perhaps this is fitting given his true nature as a duplicitous snake who claims to serve the Order while secretly working against it. That aside, however, when interacting with the world at large Byversax dons a human guise so that no one is any the wiser as to what he really is, save for those whose duty it is to know naturally. The only sign that he is not what he claims to be - e.g. a human - are his eyes, which bear the same draconic look and gold coloring as those who have partaken in communion. Like they do when asked, he also says that he is a member of the cult, though this is but a half-truth at best.
~Biography~
One of the many dragons who answered Placidusax' call to war in the time long before the Age of the Erdtree, Byversax also happened to be one of the few to see their chances at victory begin to sour long before the conflict itself had come close to an end. In fact it was he who counseled his fellows to surrender and give up their foolish fight, only for his calls for peace to be soundly ignored. At least, that is the story as he tells it. In reality Byversax barely participated in his people's offensive against Marika and her subjects, using the rising chaos to his advantage instead to study as much forbidden history and lore as he could get his claws on. In doing so he learned of the existence of the Outer Gods, specifically the Frenzied Flame and its insane ideology of reunification with the One Great. Unlike most, however, Byversax was not seduced into the Outer God's service, seeing another pathway one could walk instead. One that would allow a being to - if successful - become a god well and true. Or so he came to believe anyway. Perhaps his mind was touched by the Flame's lingering madness after all, for the seed of apotheosis which germinated within Byversax led him to believe that not only could all be returned to the One Great, but entities with the right ritual, source of power, and a strong enough will could take the Greater Will's place as its guiding oversoul. Becoming an entity who could shape creation as it saw fit, something that appealed to the old dragon on many-a-level. For what was creation but the body of such a being? And who better to assume such a lofty position but the rightful owners of the Lands Between? The only problems with this plan were the ritual and its source of power, to say nothing of the watchful eye of Queen Marika and her damnable order. Steps would need to be taken to secure the former and weaken the latter, and so it came to pass that Byversax sought to destroy the Order from within. For without access to a place such as the Erdtree and the souls it contained nor the Elden Ring, he could not enact the mad plan of ascension his mind had concocted. That being to make divine again what was once profane by hijacking the parasite and its controlling force, and through an alteration of the laws of Regression and Causality, bring a new god into being. For is it not said that all things inevitably yearn to be brought together, and that an effect ultimately follows its cause?
~Affiliation~
Ancient Dragon Cult - Member. The Golden Order - Member/begrudging subject.
~Skills~
Byversax is skilled in the use of dragon incantations, red and gold alike, though he uses the latter most often when around members of the Order, and glintstone sorceries. He has also cultivated a decent amount of skill with a blade while in his human form, just in case more mundane methods of violence prove necessary. [/sub]
