A prestigious school in North Carolina, boasting traditional values and a long history of raising promising students that have become successful individuals. With various facilities such as a furnished dormitory for boys and girls, an engineering and science building, multiple sports facilities, and even it's own shopping outlet, Bullworth provides all the amenities a student needs to grow into a fine, community minded citizen. At least, that's what it claims on paper. But in practice? Bullworth is a school stuck in the past, forgotten by the outside world, and even those within it can't seem to see problems right in front of their faces. This is probably why this school, for all of it's prestige and glamor, is a school for troubled kids just one step away from juvenile detention. Rich spoiled kids who have overstepped their bounds, violent children who have parents trying to cover their crimes, strung out failures put here more for pity than for anything they're capable of, all sorts of delinquents and degenerates. And you're one of them. Maybe you were set up, maybe you were unlucky. Maybe you deserve to be here. But Bullworth is your last chance to shape up and become a good citizen... But things are never so simple, is it? Barely a month into your first semester and disaster strikes your school. Many ran, many cowered. You were one of the few who took action. Today, we will see how you roll the dice. Hello, this is a Persona-themed D&D 5e game. While we will have concepts such as Shadows, Personas, various junganian philosophical themes, it will also have a D&D fantasy twist. A lot of your enemy shadows will be more based around traditional D&D enemies, though I'll also likely homebrew quite a few opponents who aren't original to either Persona or D&D. Indeed, many of your opponents you'll face will be different from either series, so don't get too cocky about your opponents! As for your characters, you play as a student of Bullworth Academy in North Carolina, USA. This of course doesn't mean you can't play a traditional Japanese character since there's plenty of people of all races at Bullworth, for better or for worse. That being said there are some thing expected of your character as it will be detailed in the character sheet below. Rules: 1. I am god. I may not be omniscient, but I'll do my best to be. I'm willing to discuss issues and discrepancies and I'll be as transparent as possible, but ultimately what I say is the final decision. 2. Play nice with your fellow players. Your characters may have beef, but that doesn't mean that you should antagonize one another out-of-character. But in addition to this, I will not tolerate disruptive play either. You should create a character who is willing, able, and wanting to cooperate with a team, not someone who will do whatever they want regardless of what everyone else says or does. If you're going to make a character who doesn't care what everyone else does, don't play them. "It's what my character would do" just tells me that you wanted to play a disruptive dickbag and expect me to cater to you. I will do no such thing. 3. I will be checking your rolls and I will only give you one warning if I catch you cheating. Do not automatically assume you have advantage or disadvantage, do not reuse old rolls, and label your rolls when you do them. It doesn't have to be anything lengthy, anything as simple as "Attack", "Perception" "Con Save" will suffice to me. If I catch you cheating a second time I will be rolling for you henceforth until you earn your rolling privileges back. 4. There will be some dark and serious themes. Racism, suicide, homophobia, violence, corruption of all types, and of course bullying. I won't lie: things will be bleak and I can't guarantee that you doing a good thing will result in good things happening back. If you do feel uncomfortable with something let me know so I can address it more appropriately, but this is a warning that it will likely happen and hit you when you least expect it. 5. For character creation we will be starting at level 3 and you will have a free feat. Stats will be 27 point buy, with 7 being the lowest and 15 the highest you can go. For starting equipment you have 200 GP to worth with, including anything you get from your background. I also allow for Origins customization. I will allow pretty much any official materials, however not the backgrounds from the Guildmaster's Guide to Ravnica, Strixhaven: A Curriculum of Chaos, Astral's Adventure Guide, and Dragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen. This is because the background features provided from these books grant feats or additional class spells, which makes them much more useful than standard backgrounds. I will try to incorporate your backgrounds into the story as best as I can, including your given features. If you don't feel any official backgrounds don't really suit your character, you may use this custom Background below.
Strange Student Skill Proficiency: Insight and one Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma skill of your choice. Tool Proficiency: One Instrument of your choice, Vehicle (Land) Equipment: An instrument, a School Uniform, a pouch containing 25 GP, and your choice of a bicycle, scooter, skateboard, or roller skates. Feature: Mysterious Rumors Considered one of the school's more notable students, even if not particularly popular or well-liked, your quirks and personality is already known to most at the academy. Most students and teachers will ignore some of your stranger behaviors as long as they aren't dangerous or threatening, to an extent. Some might even respect you more if your reputation resonates with their personal beliefs. Things that student and staff might overlook is asking strange questions, being in unexpected locations that isn't off-limits, drinking or smoking outside of class, and looking weird in general.
6. I won't be too strict about post schedules, ideally we post at least once a week. But even I might not be able to keep up with that between life, work, and my DM duties, so at least keep me informed if you have difficulties making a post or may be gone for a certain amount of time. 7. When speaking in-character, please mark your dialog with some sort of bright color so it's easier to spot when something is being said. If you're saying something mentally, italicize it. All neutral NPC's I use will speak using Bold font, friendly NPC's such as your summons and helpful cohorts will speak in Bold Goldenrod while enemies will speak in Bold Firebrick. 8. And of course, have fun. More rules to be made as needed.

Name: Your character's real name. It can be anything since the area in Bullworth is at least multicultural. Age: Between 14-16 years old. Regardless of your age you will all start as Freshmen. Ethnicity: Your character's real-life ethnicity and/or race. Favorite Color: The color your dialog should be in. Appearance: Ideally anime, but I will accept a detailed description as well. Background: Your characters' background in detail. Keep in mind that your background doesn't necessarily have to define your entirely life, just something that has granted you your unique proficiency and skills. nor does it have to perfectly match up to how it's used in D&D. For example an outlander may not actually be a tribal barbarian in modern America, but instead a year ago you ran away from home and lived on the streets, forcing you to learn Outlander skills within that time before you arrived to Bullworth. Background Feature: Put your background feature here, name and all. Reason for being at Bullworth: While the reasons can vary from mundane such as living in the neighborhood and going to Bullworth because it's close to home, this can also be used to explain specifically things like any past crimes or incidents that would force you to go to a school like Bullworth instead of wherever your character used to call home. Maybe he was bullied so much that your parents moved to as far from your old schools possible. Maybe you were the bully and was forced to come here to turn over a new leaf. Whatever it is, it'll shape how your perceived and treated at school. Belongings: Mundane belongings. Things like books, pencils, your wallet, etc will be assumed default so you don't need to specify them unless you really want to. Everyone will start with some sort of cellphone through whether or not it's a good one is up to you. Other things such as laptop computers, vehicles, or weapons such as knifes and such, are things you will need to find IC. Naturally Bullworth does check both you and your dormitory for contraband frequently and randomly so be careful about what you carry. Persona: The name of your persona. Race: The Persona's race, such as High Elf, Warforged, V. Human, etc. Tarot: Originally I was going to make classes into Tarot equivalent, but there are way more tarots than there are core classes. Appearance: What your persona looks like. Level: We all start at level 3 but will grow stronger over time. Class: Character class. I do allow multiclassing, though you must meet the stat requirements to multiclass. Starting are based off whatever is your first character class. If you have a Subclass also specify it here i.e. "Battlemaster Fighter", "Life Cleric", "Gloom Stalker Ranger", etc. Equipment: These are things like your weapons, armor, focus, potions, etc that will be used by you and your personas. Stats: Remember 27 point buy. Here's a handy calculator: https://5e.tools/statgen.html#pointbuy
Strength - 10 (+0) Dexterity- 10 (+0) Constitution- 10 (+0) Intelligence - 10 (+0) Wisdom - 10 (+0) Charisma - 10 (+0)
Skill Proficiency: Only list your Proficiency here. If you have a skill that is affected by some sort of Expertise, make it italicized. Equipment Proficiency: This includes things like Simple or Martial Weapons, Artisan Tools, Instruments, Armor, etc. Languages: These only include the "Fantasy" languages such as Elvish, Dragonic, etc. You can know whatever real-life language you think makes the most sense for your character. Racial Abilities: Abilities from your race. Also include the abilities that only grant a skill proficiency such as Keen Senses, Menacing, etc. Feats: Put your feats, including you free feat, here. If you choose to take an ASI also include that here, including the sorce of how you got it. Example: Tough (Free Feat), Sharpshooter (V. Human feat), or Magic Initiate "Warlock" (Fighter 6), etc. Class Abilities: The most expansive part of your Persona character sheet. Please arrange all abilities by level starting from top-to-bottom.

Optional Rules: These are rules that aren't always going to be in play, but you may choose to engage with them if you so wish. 1. My personal take on the 5e weapons that reduces the amount of redundancy while also changing how previous weapons function to make them stand out from their close equivalent. Example: changed the Glaive to be a 1d8 two-handed reach simple weapon so it's not another halberd, changed the Battleaxe to do 2d4 to make it stand out from the longsword 1d8/1d10, created the Longhammer to have a bludgeoning version of the halberd, etc. Most enemies will default to using the original weapon lists, but players are free to use the alternative version if/when they obtain a weapon from the list. Magic weapons may also use the alternative variant instead, and should be labeled as such when obtained.
