Hello everyone! Hope this post finds any of you generous enough to click my humble interest check well. Thanks for your time, and hopefully you'll find something that piques your interest below! About Me I've been writing for over decade now, but, I've been out of the game for a while for a variety of reasons. I'm looking to get back into it though! Which is where you come in. Hopefully... I think I would honestly best describe myself as literate, but lazy. Somewhere in the range of three to five paragraphs is really where I think I could be comfortable now days, but if we really connect and I can push my muse, I'd love to be able to get back to the point I can write more. Schedule wise, I don't have the ability to post every day. Lots of other responsibilities and stuff, you know? A quality post every three to four days, maybe even once a week, is probably the best I'm going to be able to do. If I can't keep up that schedule though, I'll do my best to let you know, since I love to talk and goof off with my partners OOC too. About You? I'm not the type to make hard set rules. But, knowing what I like in an RP might help you decide if you think we mesh well. First, I really enjoy the reading and writing aspect, so I'm looking for someone else who feels the same way. Posts that are the most enjoyable to read are not too short, are detailed, contain the character's emotions as much as their actions, and add to the plot. The kind posts that I can tell you had fun writing, are the ones I'll have fun reading. Also, since I mentioned my own schedule being hectic and my posts not being more frequent than one or two a week -or less- then I'm perfectly comfortable with, and in fact prefer someone who has their own things going on, and understands, maybe even prefers, a slower pace. Some of my favorite roleplays have been with people who were learning my language as a second language. It's not about grammatical perfection, Hell, I've probably made some mistakes here in this post. But effort is awesome! And I can't write well with people who don't want both my best, and their own. Oh, actually there is one hard and fast rule. I can't write well in first person, or with people who write in first person. Sorry if that seems weird. But, third person please. About our RP I enjoy playing multiple characters, so if you also did, that'd be great. There are way more than just two people in the world, and I definitely don't have the energy to write them all. (The exception to this is if I'm DM/GMing for you in something like an adventure story. But this is a special case and will require planning and input from you in other ways.) My main characters are usually men, because I'm a man, and it's easier to be inside my own psyche. I will write women too, though, as side characters. If you want romance in the story, let me say up front I'm really only any good and writing MxF romance. Not that there's anything wrong with any other kind, I just can't do it justice in writing. But if you don't want romance, that's also fine, I'm mostly here for action and adventure and stuff too. Another big thing is communication. If we're in a roleplay, and you're not happy about anything, please ask me to change it. That's very okay with me. I want you to be happy and comfortable. I'd rather change a plot than lose a partner and/or upset someone. Or if you're just not into the idea after all, and want to discontinue an RP, please let me know that as well. Finally, I guess the last, and probably most important thing is that I am over twenty one, and would prefer to write with others who are also over twenty one. Not because of any kind of sexual content, honestly, but just because of violence or other potentially objectionable things. when I think 'mature content', I'm mostly referring to emotional and intellectual maturity. That being said, if there is going to be sexual content, I'm okay with that being in the RP, but I will admit writing it isn't my strong suit and we'd probably both rather have a fade to black than cringe through my attempts at smut. And the 'over twenty one' rule is very important and non-negotiable in the case of that kind of content. Now, on to the good stuff. Or at least in my opinion. My plot hooks. I may include some suggested pairings with them, but the story concepts are the big thing here. Rather than figure out what two kind of characters we should lock ourselves into, I prefer to come up with the setting and plot, and then we can just be whomever we think fits into that.
The setting is a romanticized mix between the American West, and feudal Japan. Revolvers, lever action rifles, and katana. Cattle wrangling ninja. The feudal system through the lens of young America, with land barons and share croppers fulfilling the roles of lords and serfs. Mining boom towns with bath houses and hot springs. Tea houses with swinging saloon doors. Cherry blossoms blowing in the wind like tumbleweeds. Our characters would be bounty hunters, marshals, or other travelers who've blown into a small town that has a lot of problems. Maybe they're partners, or maybe they're rivals who end up having to work together to accomplish something bigger than themselves. Expect there to be political intrigue, adventure, exploration, gun/sword play, even some mystery. Our intrepid heroes would have to contend with outlaws, assassins, mercenaries, corrupt lawmen, and all sorts of other craziness to accomplish what was supposed to have been a simple job. *Please note you will have to help me build this world a little for us to play in it.*

A catastrophe or natural disaster exposes a pathway to some kind of 'Lost World' or 'Hollow Earth' kind of setting. Perhaps a 'Lost Continent'. A fantastical mirror of our own world with all the biomes turned up to eleven. A dangerous place, full of new and undiscovered beasts, miraculous medicinal plants, and un-mined resources. Governments and private companies alike are hiring and deploying brave souls to venture inside, make discoveries, and stake claims! Think 'Indiana Jones' crossed with 'Jules Verne'. Adventure, danger, mysticism, romance, Fortune and Glory. And very likely dinosaurs because aren't there always? If you've ever read anything by James Rollins, that's where my head is on this one.

A team of Paranormal researchers, or maybe ghost debunkers, investigates a supposedly very haunted location. Maybe there's a TV show involved, maybe it's just a hobby, or maybe this is, by some miracle, a way for them to make a living. They'd be a healthy mix of everything from total skeptics to absolute believers, so everyone would have their own take on what they hope to accomplish there. It's all business as usual until something goes very wrong and suddenly they're trapped at that location with a very angry spirit or spirits, and beset upon by a powerful curse. And now they'll have to solve the mystery of the haunting, and put the spirits to rest, if they want to live to see the sunrise.

Eons before humanity was even a twinkle in the evolutionary eye, the world of Earth was a repository for extra terrestrial technology. A military storehouse for one of two races involved in a galaxy wide war. The war ended, but even the winners were severely weakened. Over the span of time, humanity evolved on Earth. And throughout our history, we've discovered a few sites with alien tech. Of course the world governments have kept it a secret, while they've tried to reverse engineer it. Not much success has been made, but there has been some. Not enough to fully militarize it, but the planet will have to take what it can get when the original owners come wanting to reclaim their old site- and exterminate the human pests who've infested it. At least we've harvested enough tech to empower a small squadron of 3-5 humans who can fight at the level of these aliens. This is meant to be a more gritty version of a toku hero kind of story. Action, angst, drama, but also some fun too of course.

This is a much more concrete story idea, and one of the few where I do have a pairing in mind. Your character would be a great journalist for a respected publication, dispatched to write a very comprehensive story about a guerrilla style civil war in a small fictional country. (No real world politics here.) It's an awful, tragic, brutal circumstance, and your character hopes by shedding light on it the rest of the world may be inspired to provide some manner of aid to the people suffering because of it. You've been sent along with a whole crew. Some of them you know, others you do not. People from your own publication are there and there's also a film crew there to make a documentary, more about your effort to get the story than the actual story. Unbeknownst to you, my character, part of that film crew, was inserted into this team by a clandestine government organization. His reason for being there is to use your mission as cover to accomplish a hit that will affect the direction of that war, and benefit the interests of his bosses. For whatever reason, something terrible happens down there (maybe a natural disaster of some kind changes the landscape, or maybe the war or its circumstances change dramatically) and these two characters who once had very different goals and ideals now find themselves having to lead their companions out of what is suddenly a very different kind of war zone.

In a medieval fantasy world, reminiscent of something out of a table top RPG, a team of something like Holy Special Forces, are dispatched on an important mission to stop a demon king, or close a Hell mouth, or something else suitably epic. They'd be structured like a stereotypical adventuring party, with a tank, utility, blaster, healer, and DPS. But they'd be decorated and themed with religious iconography in their weapons, armor, spells, and attacks. Now their over arching purpose is definitely grand, but along their way they'd encounter the everyday problems of common people, struggle with their own beliefs and the consequences of their actions, and grow both individuals and a team. As an Important note here, I am not looking for this story to include a twist where the church, or religion are secretly the bad guys all along. That's more than a bit overused at this point, and not as edgy or revolutionary as it used to be.
In addition to these story ideas, I have a ton of characters lying around that I just desperately want to get to play. So if you liked what I had to say, but didn't feel a connection to any of these plots, feel free to offer your ideas and I'll see if I have anyone that fits them. If you made it all the way to the end, thanks for reading this far!
