Background: 

It should be noted that the Dan Hurmding expect women and men to learn warfare and hunting. The harsh climate and battle oriented culture requires the whole population to be skilled at both in order to survive, not only half.

Raiding a child take a village, is a style of parenting taken to heart by her group. Her mother died in a hunt when she was ver young, her father is unknown to her. She and the other children were passed around the town learning manners, skills, and discipline from each adult. 

As an older child Naria was given the task of goat-herding. Dan Hurmding goats are huge aggressive creatures. She had to cross the more dangerous parts of the mountains in order to follow and protect them. The climbing made her strong, the wilds made her wise. Naira proved from an early age to be an excellent hunter and warrior. Capturing her first snow leopard at nine, and participating in her first raid at 13 (16 is the customary age of war however, she was involved in a raid coincidentally. She was travelling and her company fell under attack, the tide turned in their favor, and they were not content with chasing off their aggressors. They followed them home and conquered their village.

From years of herding she is a skilled survivalist, and very independent (even by Dan Hurmding standards). So far she has never taken a mate or partner, always defeating her suitors in their proposal battles. She attends group events from time to time, but always returns to the mountains. The Dan Hurmding are united now, and do not battle amongst one another anymore, the mountain itself is the greatest opponent she could hope to face, so that is where she chooses to return. 

This hunter and goat-herder was traveling in the mountains lowlands… and met a strange woman carrying stranger stories…
